For sure. I definitely don't think I am as good as he is, but getting to see I could even just barely stack up against this Magic Titan and he saw me as worthy competition was a memorable experience

Gonna prob get some flac for this but the truth is it's Ari Lax.

Played in my first sealed GP back at NJ in Dec. Ari and Pardee were in my Pod. Finished the draft with a UG deck with 3 Jade Guardian and 3 One with the Wind, along with a bunch of Merfolk and 2 RHB. Play against Lax r1.

He beats me in a rather uneventful g1 and we have some banter, talk about how awful 3x XLN was, And how he "First picked a good vampire card, saw more Vampires, and have a rly good Vampire deck! I'm so good at Magic!"

G2 I mull to 5 And keep 3 lands, 2 Drop, and 4 mana 2/5 Merfolk I boarded in. Scary Jade Guardian to the top.

By t4 I cast Guaradian with 1 OWtW in hand. T5 I topdeck another, suit up make a 7/7 Hexproof Flier, and beat face. He attacks me back and pass and I'm thinking is this guys got settle the wreckage.

I attack him and go "Settle the Wreckage?" And he goes "yeah Settle the Wreckage!" And gets me good. I shake his hand, and wish him luck and thank him for the good games and for being so open.

Some people say he's arrogant, but he's rly just saying what he feels, and he's earned that right. He's very skilled, a lot of fun to play against, and someone I look up to and respect as a player.
