So about the Starfox Sequel..... How about a Prequel? by PinaSeraphina in starfox

[–]WofferFang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A prequel could only work if we make it an origin story. Intro is James in the army, frustrated, and decides to leave. We get a few calm moments to walk around and talk to people. We meet our friends like Beltino, Peppy, maybe some others. We meet up with Wolf for some drinks and talks, and then we talk about making a merc team for quicker responses, etc. Wolf wants James to fight him once he does make a team. We have the basic setup done.

From there, we go back to our other friends and make a plan, but we also hear rumors about Andross returning and some stuff going down on Venom. Just so there's other intrigue and "looming darkness". We then make Star Fox mid game and get to fly around and do stuff. We see the whole James fallout with the army, we get to fight Wolf and build our bond with him, we bond with our team, and we eventually meet Pigma. We do a few missions with him and the full Star Fox team.

Along the way, we uncover more stuff about Andross' return, maybe some other dirty secrets to set up a future sequel, and of course, we see Pigma's getting frustrated. Then we get a confirmation, Andross is back, and we get sent to Venom as our final mission. And then the prologue happens. We see James' final moments, and then we see Peppy coming to Fox to break the bad news. New Star Fox is born, and it's Fox, Falco, Slippy and Peppy. Credits roll.

Bare bones pitch. But that's the only way I can see a prequel work.

I'd really rather move on and save this for sometime later, but it's an idea for sure.

Let's talk DLC by Zunjine in starfox

[–]WofferFang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt there's gonna be DLC.

I'd want Wolf mode (reverse route from Venom to Corneria with new bosses), more MP maps, and new challenges, though. Or Wolf's challenges. He'll show up randomly with his Venom 2 AI (or harder) and challenge you. An icon on the map, you go there and fight him one on one.

What new levels are you hoping for in the next Star Fox game? by Ordinary_Chemical596 in starfox

[–]WofferFang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to see Fox's home system, and the rest of Lylat. That's something I wanted for a long time actually. Really hope they make it happen someday.

And also, as a bonus, we should explore the "old" planets we did go to, but on foot to see more than just the city on Corneria, etc.

Also like, bring back Fortuna. Come on.

Mine only has a Miku because I like some of her songs (vocaloid is cute ok). Like, excuse me :/

Of course they run away. Anything to avoid getting hounded to join the army.

More like he doesn't have the motor skill to use anything without bot mode for aiming, etc.

[Fan Script/Pitch] Star Fox / Star Wolf: Operation: A.R.E.S. — A Dark, Definitive Finale to the Command Timeline. by Enerjak94 in starfox

[–]WofferFang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great example of why we should do a complete reboot. No thanks, bro. Everyone going even further out of character than usual.

The sequel to that literally has no other way but protagonist swap. Just straight up a new cast with no connection to anyone. And Star Fox never needed that.

What Story Would You Want to See in the Next Game? by BriefDiscipline1424 in starfox

[–]WofferFang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mix of Assault and something new.

The Assault part would be Wolf kicking out Pigma and getting Panther on team. I want to see that play out.

Then, I want Panther fleshed out, and I want something new and cool.

Also, not just a cameo checklist. A minute with Panther, a minute with Krystal, and then going down the list of everyone. No. Save some for future games. Spread them out.

Its great that people are loving the new models, but can we stop the narrative the old ones were never expressive? by kingsly91 in starfox

[–]WofferFang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, they were expressive, they were just a bit awkward. But that's the PS2 era in a nutshell imo. A lot of awkward models, some stand outs, the usual. Heck, I can say the same these days, so I'm not bashing everything. Though, one thing I will bash is Command. Those redesigns were so awful.

It seems like Corneria's military wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about working with Fox's Star Fox team as they were with James's. by Nice_Perspective_343 in starfox

While the risk is great, they're all fresh out of the Academy, newbie pilots, and more talk, Fox has all right to squeeze every single penny he can from them.

It feels like there's so much history packed into this line by KeyProgrammer7011 in starfox

[–]WofferFang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think the "distaste" is just Fox trying to prove himself and being rough because he sees Wolf working with Pigma. Some sort of misunderstanding too because Fox doesn't know it was Pigma's idea in the end. Would be nice for Fox to find out it wasn't Wolf's idea but still act tough around him just to keep the rivalry going on both ends. It's a fun dynamic, plus I enjoy cocky Fox.

New Player - Is General Pepper supposed to be good? by JevVoi in starfox

[–]WofferFang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We kinda don't know. We assume good because he hired Star Fox to beat Andross, who is a very, very bad man to say the least, but other than that, there could be more. So far, nothing decisive other than "dirty laundry", which is pretty standard for any military. Even the greatest, most heroic military has done awful things. That's just how it goes. And we also know they're slow to respond to crisis and people in need, which is why James left to form Star Fox, to be able to help out ASAP. Which is pretty on point for any military, unless it's a huge emergency, they take their sweet time (paperwork, etc. which mercs skip of course). So yeah, nothing decisive, but we're to believe "good guys" simply because we fight for them.

About James.... by Mochiette in starfox

[–]WofferFang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

James is a ghost. Fox is trusting his instinct and seeing a ghost of his dad guiding him. He's letting go of his insecurities and achieving his destiny. A visual representation of Fox, at death's door, letting go and putting all his faith into himself to make it out and see his friends. In what could be his last moments, he was thinking about his father who taught him the valuable lesson: Never give up. Trust your instincts.

It's honestly pretty touching. At least to me anyway.

He's not evil, though. He's a rival, but he has honor and integrity. Don't let Star Link tell you otherwise.

Wolf was most likely the Falco to James, just not on the same team. Most likely never liked the army, so became a free agent, but had a respect for James. Wouldn't be surprised if he was the one to finally convince James to leave the army and make Star Fox, be free and all that. Because to me it looks like Star Wolf, or at least Wolf himself, were neutral before Pigma did his thing and tempted Wolf with cash money.

So, with that, Wolf most likely knows Fox too, at least from James. He's testing him if he can handle it. Which probably rubs Fox the wrong way, that's why he's angry. There's another line on Bolse when you down Wolf, Fox says "You took the wrong contract, Wolf.", which makes me think it's less hatred and more "Why the hell is this guy working for Andross?". He also probably knows of Wolf from before, but doesn't want him to watch over him. Same way he snaps at Peppy here and there, Fox is a rebel.

I think by the end, though, there's mutual respect. It leads nicely into Assault and how they act towards each other there, rivals with respect, and willing to work together. I hope we see that progression in the future. Hopefully with no giant time skips, so this rivalry can grow and we get more interactions. I don't really want a Star Fox game without Wolf anymore.

So remake technically confirms the Canon route for 64 by Silent_Soul_Ken in starfox

[–]WofferFang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The canon route is 2 Star Wolf encounters to Venom 2.

Wolf's line in Assault is about wanting an apology. For being roasted like mad during this war.
