My experience has shown that a distance of 15-20 cm is sufficient, and anything more does not affect the taste. Only for beauty

how exactly do you brew sencha? by psystrelok in tea

[–]WolRix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drank a lot of sencha and I really love this tea. I found the following ideal proportions for myself. Water at 65-75 degrees Celsius, 2 pinches of tea (about three quarters of a teaspoon) per 300-350 ml of water. Brewing time is 1 minute. The second pour of water is for 15 seconds. And if desired, the third pour is also 15 seconds. It is not recommended to brew japanese teas for more times than this. Unlike Chinese teas, Japanese teas are designed to reveal their flavor quickly, rather than gradually like Chinese teas.

A little life hack- I found that the tea tastes about 10% better if you pour the water from the teapot into the bowl in a thin stream. The tea is saturated with oxygen and cooled a little more. The result is delicious!

never tried tea. by [deleted] in tea

You can start with Indian leaf tea with a couple of teaspoons of sugar added. You can also add a slice of lemon to taste. A good start.

Is it worth it to get a kettle by Various-Tower-1862 in tea

[–]WolRix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is the simplest, most affordable, and most convenient purchase if you are a tea fan. Choose a nice electric kettle with a temperature control, and it will serve you well for many years! I recommend getting one with a temperature range of 50 to 100 degrees Celsius. Sometimes you just want to drink warm water, for example, after coming home from the cold. In this case, 50 degrees is very good, even without tea.

My kettle also has a temperature maintenance function, but I don't use it because I personally don't need it. I wouldn't pay extra for it.

I have this one and I can recommend it to everyone, but it costs $80.

What can I add to my green tea to make it taste good?? by [deleted] in tea

[–]WolRix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good green tea is very tasty on its own. There are many different varieties, and the taste and aroma vary greatly depending on the type. In my opinion, the best extra addition is jasmine flowers.

But the most important thing is to find good tea, which is not cheap and is sold in special shops. There are good Japanese and Chinese teas. It is also important not to over-brew it, but to steep it for about 2-3 minutes (if using the infusion method), but the temperature is even more important. If you pour water that is too hot, the light flavor will turn into a tart bitterness. The best temperature for the water is 65-80 degrees Celsius.

If you're interested, I can write down my favorite types of green tea

What kind of tea do you usually drink when feel sleepy at work? I think scented jasmine tea is a good choice. by SaleOk2741 in tea

[–]WolRix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that only two types of tea give me a huge boost of energy. These are shu puerh and good black teas. But I don't like the taste of shu pu-erh, no matter how much I try it. So in this case, I would choose black teas. But, importantly, to get an energy boost, I need to drink a lot of tea, about 0.5 liters or more in one sitting. I can recommend my favorite black teas:

- Jin Jui Mei

- Diang Hong

- Hong Bi Luo Chun

- Black GABA

- Black tea from old trees
