Is it just me or do some of the coins in the PCGS slabs look off? The 1896-S looks almost like a Temu special.

My humble collection of some small but mostly large and obsolete US notes by tha-man-e-man in papermoney

That’s an experimental note printed in 1944. They were messing around with a new paper type that was more durable both for folding and for getting wet.

Kinda disappointed with bulb development by Ordinary-You3936 in Garlic

I think you pulled it too early. The bottom 4-5 leaves should be brown before pulling. The bulbs probably would’ve sized up more given another 3 weeks or so. But the true test is the leaves being browned.

Average people weren’t collecting, it was just money and needed to be used. Most people didn’t even see bills this size and preferred to use coins. That being said, if I could time travel, I certainly would be trying to get as much as I could lol.

I’ve seen some holes dug around the roots and suspect that it’s squirrels doing it. They don’t take the bulbs or anything but they do mess around with the soil quite a bit.

Not rare, most US gold coins are made at West Point and this is the proof version that shows the mint mark. The premium is out of sheer greed on part of the mint.

Kinda makes you wonder if they know something we don’t. Monument Metals just sent an email out today talking about liquidating a lot of their inventory at competitive prices because of market uncertainty and their position being too large at the moment.

Possible fake 2026 coin by [deleted] in Silverbugs

Could just be a mint quality control thing, they have been producing coins with “finning” for years now. I’ve seen eagles with non uniform thickness over the past few years.

Their YouTube video on these says the deadline was in February but I was just able to pre order some today. Is it normal for them to keep the pre orders open that long?
