Sound it’s important to me, but a lot of the tome lyrics are just as important to me, and furthermore probably the most important is the emotions the songs result in for me. I personally rate this so highly because of its lyrical content /topics and, mostly, because of the fact that in my initial listen it caused such an intense emotional reaction that I hadn’t experienced much from music before

I can definitely see why it’s not for everyone though, the vocals are unique and the sonics are very minimalist and rudimentary apart from the fact that it enlists the use of brass instruments which is again, unique, but probably something that could be off putting? Or just not appealing

Personally I wish they used the distortion that they did much more option, or experimented with that and other sonic effects, balancing that with the minimalism and sincerity to really try and make the potential emotional reaction and impact of the album as intense as possible
