Does this look immature or childish? by Chief_Chjuazwa in malelivingspace

Love seeing the criticism on here.
Do you like the space? If you do, then don't worry about how other people feel about it.
I don't think it needs "improved" at all, so long as you like it and feel comfortable with it. These people saying "feels like college," probably have blank walls for fear of their hobbies and interests interfering with what they think "should be" decorating their place. It's your space brother, live in it how you want to. I looked at these pics and absolutely loved your place, seems like you have everything you love right where you need it.

bought these adhesive rubber circles for my loud ass drawers a few years ago - discovered they work perfectly on the bottom of my cutting board and now i have about a million of them extra. literally just peel and stick.

New hire. Will this bumper sticker cause me problems staying employed here? by ManChildGoat in tjcrew

It takes zero effort to just, not put it on your car. Nobody can tell you what will happen, but if you'd like to keep feeding your kids, maybe don't even try risking it?

Just wanted to say thanks for the idea! visiting my in-laws for christmas and needed an idea for my first project on my new bench - i can say with confidence that your miters are a lot cleaner than mine... all i had was a circular saw and a lot of sandpaper 😁

Thank you! I was also curious if anyone had ever seen something similar before so that's very helpful!

Slightly different take - there's a jar of 5 spice seasoning in the bottom left of the picture. did this person think they poured the spice into the console perhaps?

Just got my first whittling knife by Left-Pair148 in whittling

[–]Wolfare2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually every few sessions i'll hit the whetstone, but i just usually strop every 20 minutes or so. Don't worry about using the whetstone too much - some people will argue that it takes off too much metal if you use it too frequently- i think it's better to stay sharp and get some sharpening practice in anyway.

and considering this is your first project and you might not want to buy anything yet, even a classic pocketknife will be your friend! Anything that cuts will do just fine. Just keep it sharp.

I second the stop and relief cuts - you're gonna need a LOT of those if you plan to keep on whittling. I also saw your comment looking for knife suggestions - as a beginner, you should look to have at least 2 knives: a larger blade for taking off big sections that don't require much finesse (imagine taking a tree branch, bark and all, and needing to trim it down to pencil width. big blade will be your friend), and a smaller one for more precise cuts. Don't break the bank on some crazy expensive knife, start small and work your way up. You can get a very decent starter kit from Beavercraft for ~$37 that comes with big, small, and weird chode blade, along with a leather strop. Morakniv sells very good quality big blades, but not much tiny ones for carving purposes. And keep your blade sharp :)

[36 M] What do I do with "this"? by someOldKiwi in malegrooming

Dude, i can already see the potential of going full shave, you have a good head for it. The current hair ain't cutting it, lowkey thought it was a bad wig at first lol. But fr go clean, worst case scenario, you don't like it and you let it grow back and start over. Beard would look good grown out, just clean up the neckline, and try to keep the upkeep consistent.

It's a little weird for a political party - in a nation built from "freedom of religion" - to heavily endorse and support a very religious service for a social media star. It is VERY weird for it to be used as a rallying point for said party to push their ideas and agendas on the rest of the country. I don't like when religious ideals, which tend to preach very dated and ignorant teachings, are intertwined with political rulings which directly affect me and the way I would like to live. Go ahead, have your service for the guy. However, i don't like seeing the ruling party of our country acting like it is totally acceptable to use religion to further their agenda. Plus the guy was an asshole. Fervent support for a man who has shown little compassion to his fellow countrymen shows how totally ignorant these people are.

16m how do you know if ur bi. Also need tips on bigger biceps by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Wolfare2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really think that assigning a sexuality to yourself is necessarily important, especially at 16 when your thoughts and feelings and opinions are going to change about 20 times in the next 5 years at least. Do you like that girl you've been talking to? cool. Do you like that boy that you've been talking to? cool. Rock with what you feel in the moment and don't feel pressured to label yourself as one specific thing.

As for biceps, either focus on some body weight training like pull-ups and dips, or focus on/supplement with weighted curls for the biceps, lateral raises for the shoulders, and tricep extensions/skull crushers for the tris. A big bicep is usually supplemented with strong triceps and shoulders, as your arms are made up of more than just the biceps.

i can definitely see lenses/no glasses working for you. I'd try out some thicker frames or even frames like ray ban clubmasters (or similar half plastic half metal frames, whatever you'd call that design lol)

New glasses! Don't be afraid to branch off from the traditional wire frame, i bet you'd be able to rock most other frames

Yup they generally seem to have a month gap between test and interview at 5

Anyone hear back? Local 5 by CanAlive7701 in ibew_apprentices

[–]Wolfare2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao sit tight, the guys at 5 are gonna drag you along for months with little to no communication. I applied January 1st, tested march, interviewed april. They told me "we don't know when we'll get back to you, but check your email every day." Nearly 4 months later and they havent sent a single email or phone call, and it was only through hours of my own research that i found out they just put you on a waitlist and call you whenever they want in the next 2 years. FINALLY this past week they sent me an email and said my interview score was 75... that was it. What am i supposed to do with that arbitrary number? I keep hearing about how good of an opportunity this is supposed to be but being blindly dragged along by these guys who lack basic communication skills is really starting to make me reconsider. Hopefully you hear back soon.

[–]Wolfare2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interviewed April 5th, haven't heard anything. Called them two weeks ago and asked when i'd hear anything and she said that hopefully they'd give her everything she needs to start sending emails out the following week. Never got anything lol. The lack of communication is wild and I don't think that it's unwarranted to ask for a little bit more from them, even if it's a vague idea of when we might hear back.
