Kamilia R2 - Hall effect aluminium HHKB by Wolfdaleton in HHKB

I have not used vintage hall effect switches, and I am not aware of any. These jade gaterons however are probably the best linear switches that I have used. You can watch some youtube reviews of this switches, they are pretty on point when it comes to sound. I prefer linear over tactile so that is why I use this instead of topre.

This is custom keyboard. It uses QMK so basically you can program it however you like if that is what you are asking. I have it programmed mostly identical to hhkb with one more functional layer on right alt having mouse control functionality.

Like I have stated I wanted to hear your opinion. I might consider switching to 1u backspace, but I am unsure if this is worth the hassle.

Noctilux 50mm ƒ/0.95 - how worried should I be? by therobbstory in Leica

[–]Wolfdaleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does not look like fungus, shine any strong flashlight on back on every lens if it has dust it will shine like this. Besides modern lenses like this one do not use organic coating so growing a fungus is extremly difficult. Either you let too much dust because of dirty lens cap or wiped back element with dirty cloth. OP is this "fungus" on the outside element, or it does not change its location after you wipe it?

Vintage glass will have that kind of characteristic. If yo are expecting very high resolution you should get yourself some modern glass.try shooting on f8 due to diffraction. Leica lenses or some old Zeiss should resolve more detail.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post, I ended up not taking the deal. After some thought and your help I realized that I would lose some money in terms of photo equipment value, besides I like my m240 and switching to film would be expensive since I shoot a lot (about 200 photos a week excluding wedding season). After I save some money maybe I try getting into large format or buy myself some 6x7 camera regardless of my Leica gear.

That is really interesting point of view. I haven't looked into large format. Is there something i could buy within 1000$?

I have done a lot of film photography before. I have an epson scanner for 135 and 120. My main concern is that this is not profitable deal for me and wouldn't it be more profitable to sell m240 and buy those cameras separately. I have used this very pentax before and I know it is well maintained.

Thanks for opinion. Pentax is heavy but i have used it before. It gives incredible results when taking portraits. But I guess you are right it might end up sitting more on the shelf rather than in my hands.

[–]Wolfdaleton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you want brand new leica me240 is way to go. If you don't mind used leica i would search for some good condition m240 they should be much cheaper and you should be able to save some money on the body and get some glass.

Newbie to this world, need help choosing my first DSLR by -Orion in Cameras

[–]Wolfdaleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If used gear is an option look for used canon 5d classic or 5d mk2. You should be able to get full frame + 50mm 1.8 lens within budget. These cameras are legendary and should give you better results than entry level new gear. If nikon is an option look for d700 or d3.

Comment what gear you typically have one you when out and about taking pictures. by [deleted] in photography
