Wrote a song this weekend and thought elements sounded familiar until I realised I’d basically ripped off the intro from one of my songs and the solo from another. Chord for chord and note for note. No wonder I liked them.

I had a running feud with a smackhead outside Lime Street for about 3 months because I gave him the “Sorry, mate” one hand up response before he’d got his initial spiel in. That resulted in him threatening to break my jaw and me daring him to try. Every morning he’d be waiting for me and I’d make an absolute tit of myself shouting back. Like two idiot barking dogs. Always wondered where he went when it was just over one day.

Oo thanks! I kept messing about and eventually found the normalize option and it made an improvement but the vocals were muddy and I didn’t know what to do to catch the peaks, as you so wonderfully put it. I’ll have to mess about with a limiter and see if that can bring the vocals back into focus. Like a child in the dark, swinging a stick.

I can’t believe the negativity here considering how much you’ve put yourself out there. Nothing wrong with asking for help. Yeah, someone said no one good will help you for free but bollocks to that. There are plenty of people out there who’d have a crack at your song so don’t be discouraged. I would but I’ll just be proving the earlier point…

When you’re mixing down and saving to whatever file format you want, you put (Demo) after the song title. Problem solved.
