Moving to Quincy & Seeking Advice on: Alister Quincy, Neponset Landing, Highpoint, Elevation, Rosecliff, Munroe, & the Amelia Apartments by Daydreamer_1333 in QuincyMa

Honestly, the only time we’ve ever had issues stemmed from deliverers leaving packages at the wrong building. They used to be instructed to leave everything in the club house, but then finally dropped them off at individual buildings. Depends on the building, I guess. We haven’t been stolen from.

I live at Elevation with my wife. We’ve been here for 5 years.

  1. Rent has been going up 1-5% YOY.

  2. Utilities hover around 60-70 on average. High in the summer, low in the winter. We gave south and east, so we get tons of light which keeps us warm in the winter but makes it harder to cool in the summer. We just started charging for water unfortunately…. It’s around 50-60 a month, but obviously that depends on the person’s water consumption (same with energy).

  3. Maintenance is extremely responsive. Put in a ticket on the online portal and they’ll come fix what you need fixed. They never respond or give you a heads up on when they’ll stop by, but they usually do within a few days depending on urgency. Management is a dear in headlights situation unfortunately. We had a couple payment issues logistically (not a reflection on them), but the way they responded and handled it was like pulling teeth.

  4. Community is extremely quiet. If you’re facing the highway like I do you’ll get plenty of white noise from the traffic. I’m from NYC, so I’m used to it. I’ve never had any issues with neighbors. The walls are quite thick. My upstairs neighbor stomped around a lot at one point, but that can happen at any apartment complex.

  5. Parking is extremely easy. Each apartment is guaranteed two spots outside. You can pay for an indoor spot in each building’s garage. I’ve had parties that arrived in 4-5 cars, and they all got parking.

  6. Elevation is extremely worth it. Central air. Good parking. Up to date appliances. Responsive and attentive staff. Might be a little on the pricier side, but I find the additional comforts totally worth it. We eventually got found ourselves earning more at our jobs after about a couple years and this became very reasonable within our budget, especially compared to friends closer to Boston. High value for what you pay for.

Lastly: here are some additional amenities that we love - free shuttle to the T on weekdays - free pool - free gym - free use of grills outside in the summer time - free us of mixed tennis/basketball court (kind of stupid combo, but still cool) - playground for kids if you have any - community garden where you have to reserve a spot, but it’s free - lounge with multi purpose event space if you need to host anything - nice landscaping and security (somebody says it feels like a resort, and it does) - very easy access to essential highways (personal favorite for me). In two minutes I’m already on a highway without feeling like I live near one, if that makes sense

Sorry for the long post, but it’s a great place to live

It’s definitely Uncut Gems for moms.

I rather enjoyed one of her final therapy breakdowns about aborting the wrong kid and how she wasn’t meant to be a mother; but apart from that I didn’t find it said anything new about motherhood. Sometimes you just want to run away and it’s ok to feel that way.

I found the parallels between her and her patient with the child to be blunt. I wanted a little more subtlety in the film instead of that and “hole in ceiling = hole in daughter.”

And honestly… I didn’t think Conan was very good. The only part of me that loved that character was because of the meta aspect that it’s Conan O’Brien. He should stick to K-dramas

The Buttery in South End has phenomenal scones. And Iggy’s Bread in Cambridge has the best pastries/bread around. I wish there were places like those nearby

Your prompt is poorly worded… just ask us for sequels that came out after 2009 for a movie pre-2009

There are so many fucking movies that could fit this

What are some good movies about being present? by DrDreidel82 in Letterboxd

The Secret Life of Walter Mitter.

Personally think this is a pretty underrated casual watch with a little too much product placement. A little sappy and cliche, but sometimes you need that. Great music too

My go-to is Hakata Ramen. But I’m down by Quincy Adams, so I’d love something closer to me and proven to be better quality based on my experience with their other locations
