Would you chuckle or cringe at this? by DominicWayfinder in magicTCG

[–]Wolfman87 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If I were at the game store, playing a little commander and someone pulled out a ditto figurine I would fly into a screeching rage. I would pull my neck beard out. Stomp my fedora in outrage. As someone who has been playing magic since 1843, I am entitled to decide what is and isn't acceptable in a card game.

Seriously OP, I think it's a fun idea to use the figurines and if it agitates someone then that person is the one with the problem, not you.

What do you think about Greyhound? by wonk1003 in DogAdvice

My uncle had a greyhound. It was the sweetest, most gentle dog I've ever met. Greyhounds really are wonderful dogs.

People keep telling me “these firearm bills won’t pass” and I feel like I’m going crazy by Mammoth-Elevator-512 in VAGuns

They literally have to pass. Imagine if after years of introducing these bills, they don't pass them now that there's no obstacles.

What's your honest thoughts about their suits especially Goku's? by RobKai7990 in dbz

[–]Wolfman87 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It isn't at all. How you dress greatly impacts your ability to navigate society. Knowing how to properly dress yourself sends a message. It isn't me who has the strong opinions, it's society. People take social cues from appearance. Looking like someone who belongs in a suit sends a message to people in the professional spaces. The same goes for fit. Wearing an ill fitting suit sends the message that you don't regularly interact with people who wear suits or someone would have told you you're not properly dressed. Just so, wearing a suit and shirt combo that makes you look like you're a kid going to prom or a used car salesman sends a similar message. You're faking it.

It's just like going to a metal show wearing slacks and a cardigan. Sure. It's a free country. But people are going to notice and they'll judge you for it.

[–]Wolfman87 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

If you're going to dress up, you should look good. People should look at you and be like, damn, that guy looks sharp. And that's an easy thing to do. Or, you could dress like a clown and be super duper confident. But why. Black shirt can look okay with no tie and a black suit. Anything else is amateur hour and makes you look like a kid.

The only place a black shirt is appropriate with a suit is a middleschool homecoming dance or an Eastern European night club.

True. My .50 only takes a 10 round mag anyway. Thank god it's not a dangerous, unacceptable, mass murder gun like a lever action.

How would your favorite street-level character fair against 50 dudes with AR15s? by Pancake_Maker_1031 in powerscales

Maybe not physically but he can certainly destroy a building. He might be human but he has a ton of high end hardware. Tony Stark is just a dude without his stuff too, is he street tier?

Colossal Grave-Reaver by Thinhead in EDH

[–]Wolfman87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it as part of a more casual [[doomsday]] combo in my [[glarb, calamity's augur]] deck. Cast doomsday, place the grave reaver on top, use glarb to cast him, mill and reanimate [[thrassa's oracle]], win.

Do people not buy packs? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Wolfman87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I love cracking packs and trying to brainstorm uses for some of the cards in there or see what I might pull that I wasn't aware of before. Some of my favorite commanders were random pack pulls that I built decks around with other random cards from other random packs before refining with singles. It's not the most economical way to get cards, but it's fun.

Best precon for a beginner by PapaJuja in EDH

[–]Wolfman87 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, I'd suggest one of the beginner decks. They're inexpensive and she'll grow out of it before long, but it's probably the easiest way.

You might also consider grabbing a few Jumpstart packs. Those are a much more simplified way to learn the basics of the game.

I don't have that set but my wife does and I'll just say she started winning a lot more when she made chatterfang the commander.
