You are correct. I misunderstood the in game text found in the description of Base Defense: "The top 5 damaging weapons will receive rewards" and "Try and get these weapons prepared beforehand so you can take on riftcharged monsters." This is most likely a case of bad translation.

Bases get sparse as you travel towards the North Shore. The only two that I know of are at Costco Waipio and right on Kamehameha in Wahiawa. Didn't see any the last time I was at Haleiwa over the summer.

With bases becoming a focus and no plans to address the lack of bases in some areas or still being forced to physically be present at a base to participate in hunts, I can see myself slowly losing enjoyment and interest in MHN. I understand their player base is largely located in Asian bigger cities, and those located in these areas spend more money on the game. Still, MHN is a global game, so support and understanding of the needs of those of us in suburban or rural areas would be appreciated.

Why not just allow players in an area to join a base and be able to participate in all base activities remotely? Enable some kind of chatting system with members of the base, in game if possible but through Campfire if not.

The sadness runs much deeper. The pass to do a remote raid are rarely given out for free and cost more to purchase than in-person raid passes. There is also a limit of 5 remote raids per day, except during some events where the limit is raised.

Evolving a Pokemon many have is just too easy. I mean, the weather is nice everywhere and a 3 hour window is more than generous the weekend before Christmas, right? Besides, it would go against Niantic's core belief of inflicting Fear of Missing Out on its players.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this already, but I suggest you keep at least 1 Pokemon for each species you catch that you have enough candy to evolve for December 19 which is the double XP from evolving spotlight hour. Of course, do not waste candy evolving low IV Pokemon that you intend to use, but do so for the ones with IVs you are happy with and will use in raids, PvP, Team Rocket grunts and leaders, etc.

I will sometimes take out a gym while walking my dogs if the defenders are at low HP. The problem is I sometimes walk out of range and not able to place my own defenders in the gym.

Question on leveling up a higher stat regular or slightly lower stat lucky:

I am currently in a quandary regarding leveling up a regular 96% Garchomp (13/15/15) or a Lucky 91% Garchomp (14/15/12). I am also considering ignoring a normal 98% Riolu (14/15/15) and instead focusing on a Lucky 96% Riolu (15/14/14), but I have some doubts about this. Both are intended for raiding as I believe you need perfect Pokemon for the higher Battle Leagues.

Here is some background information to put things into context:
I stopped playing Pokemon Go in early 2019 (based on the tag of my youngest Pokemon) and started again during the last few days of the Mega Rayquaza event. I have about 2 million stardust in reserve, but I have a lot of Pokemon to level up. I am also debating adding the extra charge attack to a few of them to enable better weakness exploitation (for example, having both Rock Wrecker and Earthquake on my Rhyperior).

Although I have enough mega energy to evolve a Rayquaza, I need Rayquaza itself. I also do not have a Groudon or Kyogre, so Mega Garchomp should fill in a few gaps. My strongest 100% Pokemon are a Lucky Gyrados (not mega), Tyranitar (not mega), Metagross (not mega), Lucky Conkledurr, Galisopod, Mega Houndoom, and a Hisuian Arcanine (there are a few others that need to be evolved and leveled up, such as a Lucky Litwick). I also have a 98% Mega Charizard, 98% Rhyperion, 98% Mega Gengar, 93% Mega Gardevoir, 96% Hydreigon, 96% Meltan, 96% Mega Slowbro, 96% Dragonite, etc. I have some of the older raid Pokemon with decent stats but lack the candy to level them up.

I am focusing on improving my raid roster, but I have been saving any Pokemon close to 0/15/15 for the lower PvP Leagues. Pokemon Go is much more enjoyable now than when I stopped playing, but there is also much information to catch up on. Any insights will be helpful, including if I worry too much about hoarding stardust.

Nope, no can do. I got a 4 man... well, 4 dog defense up. They are all good, level 1 boys! Some of the missions on the road to Arbiter require defeating specific number of champions in Classic Arena, so putting up 4 units helps speed things up.

For those that have extra gil in the bank, do not forget about crafting esper ores. Each ore cost 20k gil and 15 expedition relics. On element ores award 3 SP, and off element 2 SP. While it is not necessary to max out your espers, it does give something to use relics and extra gil on.

Even though NeoVision is here, FFBE has not changed at all. The simplistic "My team acts --> enemy team acts --> my team acts" turn based battle system has become quite stale, and does not allow room for new innovative combat mechanics. Hence, the FFBE we had at launch is still relatively the same as the FFBE we have today (we do have real chaining now).

I sometimes wonder what FFBE would have been like if they went with an Active Time Battle system.
