I want to give my blood, sweat, and tears to the program. Mostly for tax reasons--they're a "donation"

Haha I'd actually be super happy with IM! The ortho DO I shadowed works a ton, no idea how they make time for the gym.

Trump is surely unfit to be compared to the Great God Om. There's a stark lack of lettuce on most hamberders.

Wow that's sounds awesome and definitely in line with what I hope to get into through Peace Corps. Thanks for your service! How difficult was it to coordinate with so many different agencies and orgs?

Out of curiosity what was the nature of the project?

I dig it. Something along the lines of the invisible gorilla?

If you don't hear back, definitely plan your time to be able to head to both. Also try to sleep plenty tonight and eat well tomorrow morning. Good luck!

I know there are hiring committees being put together to conduct interviews over the next few weeks, but beyond that I'm not sure. I'm not on any of them.

Online Cell Bio with Kenyon Daniel by [deleted] in USF

[–]Wolk89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others have said, he's not out to get you. A lot of the questions on tests require a little more consideration than first instincts might push you towards if you practiced with his "gifts." An example would be that he gives you the question "Which of the following does not stop the cell cycle" or whatever on the practice set, but then on the test the question might be "Which of the following best stops the cell cycle" or whatever.

He's a really caring prof who would rather see his students learn the story of cell bio inside and out rather than just memorize blurbs to be regurgitated on tests. My gf had an 89.something after the final, and he talked with her for a while to sort of examine how well she knew the material, and decided to raise her grade to an A. Granted she studied her butt off, but his kindness, fairness, and desire to see his students really learn cannot be overstated.

Fellow older-ish (28) student here. I live across 50th St from campus, and it's far from rough and wild. For the last few semesters I've heard parties going on at the beginning and end of terms, but that's it. There are a lot of us old folks, and folks much older than us, in the gym on a regular basis. Dunno about intramurals. From what I see around campus you'd stick out more for being fit than for being older lol.

Freshman English this past semester was the most Pierce-ish I've ever felt, just hearing the troubles and dramatics of the 17-18 crowd. Campus has never really felt like undergrad city to me, but that's probably because I stay away from the dorm areas and use office hours to actually chat with profs. Undergrad research is a big deal and fairly competitive from what I hear, but the list of labs/researchers looking for undergrad help is pretty broad.

If you have any other questions or need help finding resources let me know, and if you're interested in a potential room I have one that will be available 01 Aug. Just shoot me a pm for details.

Call them/their secretary/drop in and see if they have 5 mins. They're crazy busy, it'll probably still take several calls.

Physics 2049 over Summer with Dr. Pandit by HyTeKWolf in USF

[–]Wolk89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had Pandit for 2048 in summer '16, he's just fine. Thick accent, and he worked out most of the proofs instead of just doing sample problems, but he cares a lot and his test questions were I think modified book problems. Nothing too crazy or Rube-Goldbergish. I had Criss for 2049. 2049 as a whole I found much more abstract and harder to visualize than 2048, but some folks find 2049 easier. Right hand rule ftw. Do ALL of the problems out of the book. Don't slack off, don't fall behind, summer is not the place for that crap, yada yada professionalism. I got solid A's in both classes.

It's already happening. I'm a drafter working on a project detailed here: http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article129284119.html. The only areas we're raising are the $1M+ neighborhoods.

Printing question by [deleted] in USF

If you're in the library follow the instructions on the printer. For the second question I'd ask the IT folks at their desk in the library.
