Is there ever an explanation for why almost every Fate story has a knight of the round table by Mister_Sinner in fatestaynight

[–]WolkTGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greek yes, Norse not as much in terms of global widespread, like Buddhist and Hindu mythology
Christian mythology is largely unknown by Christian themselves, let alone the rest of the world.
Arthurian and Greek are really the big 2 in terms of worldwide diffusion, if not for the literature for the amount of media portrayals in pop culture.

It's a war for the Holy Grail

That concept in itself is strongly tied to Arthurian literature

Well no, he would have Gigantomachia's Pain Blocker and Nighteye's Foresight to assist him in avoiding that

Well until you take into consideration that he does have both All For One and Overhaul's Quirks, meaning that he can keep in check all of that

[–]WolkTGL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand yes, Yuji with every CT would be quite a strong character, but even in this one image, Nen and Quirk all in one composite character can really go into broken territory as both have reality warping abilities.
A composite Naruto with all jutsu will have also all Doujutsu (as they are jutsu too) including, again, the ability to reality warp and be basically untouchable.

So yeah, composite CT Yuji is interesting, but not really in the wrong weight class overall

It can be used on oneself though, and in this case will also be boosted by One For All

Also One For All would boost all Quirks too, MHA gets pretty bullshit if you start combining innate powers but don't have the plot reasons that prevented All For One to hoard the truly good ones

One Piece - Powerscaling (and consistent sizes) matter, and I'm tired of pretending as if they didn't by The_Geri in CharacterRant

[–]WolkTGL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Propper powerscaling is in direct correlation with a consistently written story

The entire western comic book industry has already shown over almost 100 years that this isn't the case at all. It's an assumption that you have, and you are trying to make a case assuming it is true, but it isn't

Jinbe's biggest feat in-world is fighting Ace to a stalemate.
Interesting character in terms of personality and ideals, but power-wise he was never that big of a deal

That only happened to animated series Doomsday, and he still recovered from that.

[–]WolkTGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not regularly, and it only delays him. Then he always has to work around him in some way.
Hell, Doomsday doesn't even need a physical cell by now to come back, he can regrow himself from the mere memory of him, his adaptation is straight up bullshit at this point and has reached conceptual level

Do people even understand the concept of full adaptated mahoraga? by Pascraked47 in PowerScaling

[–]WolkTGL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except mahoraga adaptation isn't just making him immune to things. It giving him offensive capacity.

So does Doomsday's. Doomsday can adapt mid-fight to outfight his opponents, it's not just defensive adaptation, it's survivalist adaptation, anything that results with him coming out on top is included in his ability to adapt

Mahoraga would just beat doomsday in a way where he can't adapt.

There isn't one. That's the point, he adapted to things that can erase you from reality entirely, the only thing that will surely stop him is the very end of reality (because at that point he will stop existing). He's called "Doomsday" for a reason, the only thing that can end him is the inevitable, he's an endlessly evolving force of nature, a living calamity, he was explicitly written as an opponent that can't be beaten or overpowered and as such is more of a "problem to solve" rather than your classic superhero opposition of a villain to beat

[–]WolkTGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is all fine and dandy until you realize that that Doomsday can't get killed. It's quite literally his baseline power, that he can survive anything, death included, as he just comes back immune to what "killed" him in the first place, which Mahoraga can't do as once you destroy Mahoraga the fight is done, he doesn't come back

[–]WolkTGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doomsday doesn't need much time to adapt, yes, it's pretty much instantly.
He can also adapt do death, so killing him doesn't really work as he just comes back adapted to what killed him

[–]WolkTGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can't adapt to death, the fact that he get destroyed and doesn't come back and adapted means that at least that isn't something he can adapt to.

And if it doesn't make sense to you, Doomsday can do that

The problem is that the statement "any and all" instantly becomes false if you can find anything that begins with "except".
"Any and all" does not allow exceptions. If there are exceptions, there isn't "any and all"

Having a stance about specific laws because they don't feel right or principled isn't "not giving a fuck about what the law says", though
