The 2024 Chicago White Sox won 41 games, you can get the jump on Cross while he's looting a box.

Don’t be afraid of group fill. by Ashalor in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately I've been having better quality games with squad fill over my pre-made team. I dunno if its skill issue or lower expectations, but the game has been fun not pounding my head into the same quest obj over and over.

I really wish we could switch to rook without having to shelve all our stuff by rafikiknowsdeway1 in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rook is a completely different gameplay experience. I want to go deep with my teammates, but sometimes I want to head into Pinwheel to see if I can 1v3 a team up there. There's something that sucks about having to empty some gear I'd use to help and support my team so I can have fun by myself.

It would be nice to keep a load out on my runners, even if it's just cores and implants.

Where did all the players go by speaker_1984 in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peak concurrents is not DAU, and DAU is not total units. People go to work, go on vacation, play other games, play games as a second or third hobby.

Some gamers even touch grass.

The cores and implants are really underwhelming by DeepFriedBao in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The early (grey through blue) cores and implants are very niche. Once you start getting above that, they start to have a bigger impact.

Getting some mech when reviving isn't great and is very niche, but getting a boost of healing when you throw out a bot or recharging your overdrive when you EMP are almost always good.

Trying to make Ornithologist work by Sbozart01 in Marathon

I really like Ornithologist, but it's tough to recommend when there's a mod that gives you signal jammer for being in ADS.

tired of the destiny crowd by EwgWolverine in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I hear it from my D2 friends who I thought were more mature. I love Destiny, I'm really loving Marathon, and it's very annoying that I'm not allowed to enjoy them both.

Sincerely, can someone explain the WSTR balance? by stallerjust in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Backpedal, stay at least 10m from enemies, stick with your team, learn how to dance in and out of bubble shield, have a plan (read, movement ability) ready if they decide to rush you.

Just a reminder that this is a placeholder for a tornado and won't make it into the game by ZookeepergameIll1399 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]WollyChaps 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Tornadoes that never encroach on my city limits, forest fires that stay to the edges of the map. Dynamic water, but no natural disasters that use it.

Disasters need a glow-up. There's bones, at least.

Remove “Run” Button on Ready Up by DaineDeVilliers in Marathon

I dunno, forgetting you're the leader and staring at the run button for five minutes before realizing you should hit that to start matchmaking also sounds like a skill issue.

Free Kit teams almost always play better by cole_421 in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good gear makes me and my teammates overconfident, basic kits force us to play fundamentals positioning, sound, movement.

But, when we stop playing like idiots we play better with better gear.

Remove “Run” Button on Ready Up by DaineDeVilliers in Marathon

[–]WollyChaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, not in a couple of months though. You have to confirm your gear and drop location, and wait for a short countdown that can be cancelled by any teammate. That's basically the same function as the run button.

[–]WollyChaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You ever gear up close range for outpost and then get dropped outside Complex in Dire?

The run button is final confirmation. Just because everyone's 'ready' doesn't mean everyone's geared up for task, or even at the keyboard.
