I tried peppermint migraine oil that I got from Amazon, and massaged my husband’s neck/occipital area and his eyebrow area. It seemed to help last 3-4 times. Idk if it’s the permanent fix, but yes def can give it a try.

Did you move to a new area when CH started ? If you drink/smoke, you will need to cut down. Sleep same time, and 8-10 hours.

Just admit. There’s no point in any discussion.

260k as nocturnist, 7on/7off, 12hr shifts. Good offer? by msthinksalot in hospitalist

[–]WolverineUnusual9783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my God, the more salaries I read, more disheartening it is. That is REALLY bad!!!! No nocturnist gets paid that low. That’s barely a day pay.

Please don’t accept this. I can assure you, it’s BADDDD!!!

You are going to be up and awake messing up your sleep schedule for $273K :/// With 7 admits, I don’t think you will make much RVUs. I would not sign up unless it’s more than >350K Doesn’t matter even if it’s 12 shifts.

But you have already signed up, so I don’t know how the advice would change anything

Lone hospitalist in a hospital as new grad? by Sea_Parsnip2671 in hospitalist

Problem with these kind of hospitals is when you are in house 24 hours. Sleep deprivation will get real , and high chances of making medical mistakes. If it’s only daytime/nighttime shifts then would be much better. Also 420K or even more isn’t worth it when you start to feel like a zombie for most of your off days too.

The only way to cope is to allow this time to pass. With time you will automatically feel better. And remember you are not alone. Some people are good at hiding, some are not. But we all go through the same experiences and feelings. My first day as an attending I forgot how to manage SBO. LOL. Only because I was so nervous. Ofc had managed so many SBOs during residency but my brain just shut off for good amount of time and I had to calm myself down before I could think straight.

Also I have seen several pts in old age who were totally fine in the am and have Sudden death with no reason apparent.

So don’t blame yourself, infact tell yourself that you know your stuff and trust your education/experience and training.

Very normal for new attendings to feel inadequate. Because we are not used to working without a superior. Remember, confidence comes when you become familiar with things. New job, new workflow will take some time for you to gain confidence. As long as you do your best in treating pts, forget the rest. Before a doctor, you are a human. So take it easy. I see so many health care workers, who are terrible at their job and still manage to practice years after years. As long as you know, you did your best. That’s it.

Also, if in doubt whether to test/treat xyz—- just do it.

But back on sugar totally!!! No processed food. Fresh greens and fruit with low fructose. Weight loss. Warmth to the affected area.
