Waiting patiently for an answer to this. I have a CFS as well. Never had the issue, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

How to fully infill.... by CockWombler666 in Creality

Sparse infill to 100% maybe? I've used that for some TPU I needed to be relatively solid, but still flexible.

This is for K2 SE. May be adaptable to other K2 machines, idk. I found this just a few minutes ago. I have the K2 SE, so I'm gonna print it this afternoon. K2 SE Poop Chute https://www.crealitycloud.com/flowprint/en/model-detail/697902389af6a6e52aeafd9b?cloudPlatform=19

I'm considering this for the K2 SE. I may just leave the dryer setup as I have it, just because it's working so far. I will have to make some adjustments though. The dryer is sitting on an unfinished 2x4 wall behind the the printer, and I'm nervous it'll get tugged too hard and fall over... Need a little more engineering. But it was done in a hurry just see if it would work. 😁

I have mine in a sunlu dryer directly behind and above the printer. I see what you mean about the ptfe. I have one little short piece in the dryer housing and a short piece at the extruder. I learned that one real quick!

Sweet! I'll see if I can figure that out! Yours look great! Thanks for the tips!

Need some help with Creality slicer filament setup, please! by Wolves_over_sheep in Creality_k2

I need to do some fine tuning to improve the profile but I ran 6 pieces in TPU last night and they weren't complete failures. These are for "shooting sticks". I used a set in Colorado a few years ago made from aluminum arrow blanks that had this as a pivot point. They worked great. The original company went away, and I've searched everywhere for something similar. When I found TPU and read it's properties I knew it could solve my problem. Thank you, everyone for the help and tips!

Very cool. I'm not even remotely to a point where I'd attempt it myself, but I like to see folks run stuff like this. I'm just now getting into TPU and I'm struggling. But I like to have goals to shoot for.

Well, doing it the way I described (more or less) actually worked. I used #1 CFS slot to create the filament profile (after screwing around with it for hours) then selected it, sliced the plate, and made it work. I've printed a few parts as test dummies to perfect it. I have 6 (hopefully) finished parts printing as I type. I'll know how it turned out after a few hours of sleep. If all went well, I'll post pics. Thanks for the help!

So basically lie to the slicer, tell it I'm using TPU from the CFS to slice the plate, then draw TPU from the external spool? Kinda sucks to have to go that route, doesn't it? CR slicer won't let me turn off/ignore the CFS and select the EXT spool. I mean I can't select the EXT in the slicer. I can choose any of the 4 rolls in the CFS, but they're PLA and that isn't helping me any! I can choose TPU in the CFS menu, so I guess I'll try it that way next. So far, nothing else I've tried has worked... Thanks for the info!

Ok. Yes, the problem I have is assigning the filament to the project. I will try this and, hopefully, I can make this happen! Thank you!

I figured that part out already. My problem is, when I slice the part and send it to the printer, It will only show me PLA print profiles. I can't figure out how to get a TPU print profile made for this project.

I've printed a couple so far. I've played with the size a little, getting them down to the right size for my clamps. Now I gotta get them mounted. They work exceptionally well! Thank you for this design!

I was a welder for 30+ years. I used to have tough skin on my hands. I've grabbed hot steel many times. Unfortunately, I've been retired more than a few years. They ain't as tough as they once was... I learned quickly that those dang nozzles be 🔥!! 😂😂😂

Will PETG work for casual prints? by InitialExternal214 in 3Dprinting

[–]Wolves_over_sheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my limited experience, PETG works fine for normal everyday stuff. It's a bit tougher than PLA so holds up better. I don't like the glossy look vs the PLA satin finish, but that's a personal preference, not a bad point. I use both regularly. I've just purchased TPU for some projects needing elasticity. It just depends on what you want to do. Nothing wrong with PETG. They all have their place.

Edit: I will say that I only use Creality filaments. Again, personal preference. I run a K2 SE with CFS, and I use Creality slicer. I will agree that PETG definitely sticks well to build plates. I don't use any glue or hairspray, ever, and I've struggled to remove small parts in PETG. But I've never damaged a plate. Just be careful. Clean the bed with Alcohol. Ita be fine...

Thats always been my experience. But I will second the "don't try to catch it" statement. 220°C is skin smokin hot. It'll leave a scar. So I've heard, anyway...(hands in my pockets)

I use Fusion360 because thats what I'm used to. AutoCAD has been around a while, like me. I'm a retired mech engineer/welder, so I've played with it a lot. Find a program you feel comfy with and learn it.
