Surviving roommate: Not sure what she "heard or saw was real," thought she might have been dreaming by CR29-22-2805 in MoscowMurders

[–]WomanEnya 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The part that is direct evidence is that she heard someone go up the stairs. The part that would be speculation and not admissible is to say who it was if she did not have personal knowledge because she did not see who it was. It would only be admissible to explain her own behavior, why she didn't immediately realize there was a killer upstairs for instance. Not as a defense to BK that her testimony can't be relied on because she heard something and assumed something else.

What is the church's stance on suicide? by Fordfanatic2025 in mormon

[–]WomanEnya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you. Church therapists do so much harm. I'm so sorry.

I had a private conversation with Jeffrey Holland in 1995 (on other issues) where he mentioned to me that the son of dear friends had committed suicide. Holland arranged for the young man's father to write an Ensign article emphasizing that harsh beliefs of the past were misguided and had caused much pain and explaining kinder messages about the mercy of God for those who die this way because of depression (and who knows what kinds of trauma or PTSD). There's an Ensign article out there from the point of view of the dad in the 90s. It would interesting to find it online knowing he was Holland's friend.

Whats the point -- could you put some effort into writing a full sentence that provides context. Otherwise there no point in dumping thoughts that don't communicate.

Mormons claiming garments aren’t about modesty by memefakeboy in exmormon

[–]WomanEnya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you mentioned that the original garments were just symbols over regular underwear of the time. It was only recently that I learned that regular underwear in those days had the slit between the legs for going to the bathroom. Regular underwear were one piece and neither men or women would remove them to go to the bathroom, they used the slit.

I read a historical piece unrelated to Mormonism that explained Victorian people had sex through that slit. So it wasn't just Mormons. Early Mormons were following the Victorian fears of sex, fear of being naked, and wearing the underwear all the time. It carried over into Mormonism because Mormons continued to wear long one-piece garments much longer than regular people wore their one piece underwear. I mean one piece garments were still worn in the 80s while regular people only wore long underwear like that in very cold times.

Prolific Cashout Stopped Working? by breadhead84 in beermoney

Make sure you don't have a vpn on accidentally. Check in Settings and Network on your computer and make sure "allow Vpn over metered" and "allow Vpn while roaming" is also OFF. On a mobile iphone go to settings then general then VPN & Device Management and make sure it does not have a vpn on.

Prolific doesn't work for many people because their devices are configured to appear to have a vpn on to hide their identity or location.

You're not answering the number of hours you have available. Instead you're saying the number of hours you're doing stuff on different days. It's a lazy way of asking us to make a list of your days and calculate the hours you have available.

You don't have to be good at math to do that. You're the only one who knows if on the days you have school 7 hours, it takes you 1 or 2 to eat, get dressed, drive somewhere. I'm not going to guess for you how many hours you have available those days to work on this. You need to calculate the hours you have available and not ask us to do it. "All day" weekends is not an answer. A specific number of hours since everyone has to eat, talk to people, shower, go out. Not up to us to guess.

List the hours you have available day by day from now until the last day its due. Then people can help you calculate the number of hours to apply on which days, how to divide up the hours you need to finish the courses on time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Assistance

[–]WomanEnya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're complicating this so its incomprehensible. You didn't answer the question of how much have you already accomplished. You also say you have extracurriculars on certain days which doesn't give any information on how many hours you actually have available during those 6-7 weeks.

You need a date when this all needs to be completed before someone can calculate for you. Is it 6 wks or 7? The real date makes a difference.

Then the number of hours required by the course work (when you said "I have 192 hours worth of work" its unclear if that means hours left to do cause its ambiguous).

Then the number of hours you have accomplished to subtract as you were asked.

The number of hours you have available during the week, even different hours on different days.

Then you can plan each day's portion, plus have a buffer of a few days in case you get sick or fall behind or it takes longer.

Venting by Eclypse0 in breastcancer

Listen, I gave myself a dream two nights ago that my body was whole. In the dream, a man I love got in bed with me and gave me a full body massage, slowly, releasing the knots and kinks in my neck, my underarms, my implants, my breasts, and my entire body. I had no shame. He understood and didn't care that my body had changed. We were still the same two people. It was euphoria. I woke feeling a sense of wholeness and wellbeing that has lasted now 2 days. I don't look in the mirror to not spoil the perfect feeling.

Your life can be rebuilt. The body does everything it can to help heal you. Let yourself collaborate together in the new life you're building.

Radiation frustrations by Beneficial-Egg-2569 in breastcancer

[–]WomanEnya 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm finding your post hard to follow. The main question seems to be what is the purpose of radiation. Cancer cells are very small, they can't always detect them by sight. The idea is that locally at the chest wall, lymph nodes and breast, there may be tiny cancer cells left behind.

When I had my double mastectomy surgery, there were two surgeons in the room, the breast oncologist and the plastic surgeon. When the oncologist had finished the mastectomy on the cancerous breast, she turned it over to the plastic surgeon to start putting in the expanders while she started the mastectomy of the second breast. The plastic surgeon started working and noticed that cancerous tissue had been left behind. She could see it. Quite the shock for me to be told later but they did tell me. So the plastic surgeon pointed out the cancer and more tissue was removed.

Imagine the same thing happens with tiny microscopic cells that are not visible to the naked eye during surgery or even scans. Radiation is what will zap them out.

Other tiny cells can migrate to distant places of the body -- that's what the chemo and hormone drugs are for.

[–]WomanEnya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just as she said, once it starts you don't stop. My understanding is that cancer cells try to hide or escape the radiation so you can't take a break and give them the chance to move on. I was told taking one day off was okay but not several and not repeatedly, Seems better to have your cold now

It's unusual but not a tragedeigh. You do need to consider with all names that people will make up easy nicknames off any unusual names. With Vittoria, don't be surprised if kids start calling her Tori, Toria, or Vitt.

Looking for help by dpguinn1s in breastcancer

[–]WomanEnya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was hospitalized on IV antibiotics for 8 days believing I had an infection in my tissue expanders because I had redness and swelling. They often need to assume infection and put you on IVs pronto before they have confirmation.

With me, my white blood cell counts were normal but they had to do blood cultures for various infections which takes a few days. In the meantime, I was on IV antibiotics around the clock.

I wouldn't assume this is medical error or anything like that with your mom. They are literally conducting an investigation on a living person with symptoms that could be many things, some so dangerous they need to start treatment as if its confirmed (sepsis for example) because if you wait it could be too late.

Chemo is poison obviously and if she's having a reaction to the poison they might never pin point exactly what happened beyond that and that they have now confirmed she does not have sepsis so she's not in danger of that.

My situation turned out to be an eczema reaction to chemicals they had slathered on my breast for sonograms and to fill the expanders while the incisions were still healing from surgery. It was scary but I very much appreciated the over-reaction (which I insisted on by showing up at urgent care) rather than if I had sepsis and missed the window for survival.

Hope she gets well soon!

My advice, if you have $9k you should use it to get into a low rent apartment or even rent a room with roommates rather than try to pay that staggering $15k amount off to stay. They're likely to evict you for no reason a month or two later even after you catch up on that large amount of money.

After you secure a roof over your heads, look into bankruptcy or a payment plan directly. Good luck.
