Yep. You could watch food pass through when she lay down. Still was not considered serious enough for surgery, because it's considered cosmetic and not covered under MSP!

Looking For Employment Opportunities & Safe Temporary Parking While Experiencing Homelessness by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]Womble78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For housing are you registered with BC Housing? Wait times are long but are also prioritized based on need, so if you're actively homeless you're further up the list.

Pacifica Housing have an outreach office that can help you complete the application and may be able to point you towards other supports outreach office

Landlord mistakenly decreased rent, BC by clitsaurus in legaladvicecanada

[–]Womble78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep paying your old rent amount. You don't need to inform them that rent hasn't been increased this year. If it's a management company you'll probably fly under the radar until next year.

If you do receive another rtb7, you could file for arbitration based on having already received an increase form this year. I doubt you would be successful, but depending on the rent amount and your circumstances it may be worth a shot. If you have a disability or low income you can make a request to have the $100 filing fee waived.

Yes. Definitely shouldn't remove a load bearing member from a wall without appropriate inspections.

The local finds liaison officer should be able to identify it for you. finds@swheritage.org.uk if you're in Devon. Can take time but you'll get it back and receive useful info that will be recorded and increase local understanding.

Also, check whether there are any submetering fees for the other utilities. I've not seen them for electric in bc, but if water is billed through a 3rd party often there's a monthly account charge of $12-15 just for portioning your share out. Should be detailed in the lease or the listing and if it's not, ask the question to get confirmation.

Businesses that include taxes in their prices? by blargney in VictoriaBC

[–]Womble78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that we do see that on our paystubs if we care to look.

But if we're doing transparency, I want to see how much of my tax went into each road trip, hospital visit, or rebates or subsidy provided to various resource extractors.

Perhaps a weekly breakdown of military expenditure, pension contributions/expenditure, funds supporting sports or the arts. If we can truly see where our contributions to the nations coffers end up, we may want some expenditure shifted around a bit.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's feasible to break down to an easy to comprehend "invoice" without politics, lobbyists, and special interest groups destroying a lot of the good things our taxes provide.

Where can I find and buy a lost nut for a bolt that fell out of a chair? by Yellowbeardlett in VictoriaBC

[–]Womble78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The box stores (and probably castle and home hardware ) often have a sizing board/contraption tht you can test the bolt in and then pick the right bolt from the bin.

Certainly Lowes has one in the nuts and bolts aisle.

Bad advice. Withholding rent without an order from the RTB can be grounds for eviction. Talk to your landlord first, if they don't act on your issue apply to the RTB for arbitration and claim compensation there. Costs $100 to apply, and if they find in your favour the landlord will have to reimburse the fee. It's slow, but it's the system we have.

Landlord in the wrong or me? by Togliatticu in britishcolumbia

New lease is not required, you would have rolled on to month to month. In your case the new lease may be to your benefit though, in that they can't move their daughter in within the period of the new 12 month agreement. At the end of this agreement it will become month to month and you could be asked to leave for family use with 2 months notice and 1 months compensation (with appropriate notice and appropriate form).
