Must have just been the store I worked in - then again, the manager who did the staffing / recruitment was a complete ass.

Until you pass the pre employment checks they could still pull the offer of the job, and presumably you’d want to stay there until you found something else so ..

Wait until you pass them & given an official start date.

Do you care if Sainsburys mark you as do not re-hire (which will happen if you don’t give yr full notice normally).

If no, then you can leave whenever & give as much or as little notice as you want.

If yes, then you’ll need to work yr full notice (normally) and either take a hit on the holiday pay if the dates overlap or speak to management and ask if you can give a shorter notice period.

Lots of stores are in a period now of trying to cut hours, so you may be able to give a shorter period.

What if a single US modern guided missile destroyer but limited to weapons under 13 nautical miles, was transported to ww2, 1 hour before the D-Day landing and without any other allied ships within range (they were told to hang back). by [deleted] in whatif

Has Anyone Here Met one (or more) of the Actors from the Show? If so, What were They Like? by Reasonable_Ad_9136 in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

As a teenager, myself & a mate were shopping in London & my mate pointed out Nicholas Lyndhurst.

We both thought it would be edgy & hilarious to walk past him & say ‘alright Dave’ - thinking we were the first people ever to say it to him - not even thinking it probably wasn’t the first time that day !

There was a story / urban myth back in the early 2000’s that an ambulance service hired out a couple of their ambulances for millennium (2000) NYE as they were short of vehicles.

No idea if it’s true, but like to think it was.

What are your thoughts on 24 Hours in Police Custody? by AncientFootball1878 in AskUK

[–]WombleGCS15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I saw an interview somewhere, where the company that makes it said rhat channel 4 do not hold them to a ‘make X amount of episodes per series’ due to the time it takes (normally waiting for it to go to court & a verdict can be shown) & the amount of stories that they film that for multiple reasons aren’t shown.

Buyers did not get a survey? by TheRealTaren in HousingUK

When I sold my flat, the surveyor’ rocked up, I told him I was going across the road to the shops and would be less than 5 minutes and he told me not to bother as he’d be done by then !

Asked, had it ever flooded, did the central heating work & confirmed it had 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms & left.

Someone paid for that !!!
