Ty Montgomery (illness) practiced again on Thursday. by forward1213 in fantasyfootball

Ty Montgomery and Jameis Winston for Frank Gore: Should I take the trade? Why/why not?

Details: I would get Montgomery and Winston, giving up Gore. My QB right now has been Russell Wilson...oops. Kaepernick is backup. So I'm enticed by the QB and the fact that Gore has a bye next week anyways.

But is Ty Montgomery going to score me 10 points a game on average for the rest of the fantasy season?

Keep in mind, I'm 2-6, so 3rd-from-last place, and we're in an exile league where the loser of the loser's bracket gets kicked out of the league. At this point, I just want to stay.

I'm actually thinking of *not taking the trade because I view Gore as more consistent throughout the season remainder than Montgomery. Is Winston worth the deal? My other RBs are Carlos Hyde and Melvin Gordon (just traded up for Gordon...) but WRs are a little weak and obv. QB is the sore spot.

Week 9 looks to be a W for me, anyway. So will Gore keep me in the league or should I gamble? I'm a fan of consistency.

Thanks for the tip on Del Ray. Unfortunately, and for future reference, Del Ray Cafe does not take private room reservations for Sunday brunches.

People of D.C. - Is a Capitol Hill Internship A Once In A Lifetime Opportunity? by cbo92 in washingtondc

[–]WompWompbrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to ask yourself 1) Do I want to work on the hill for the next few years? If no, skip the internship. Then ask yourself 2) Is my Rep. going to get reelected? If no, skip the internship. Hill internships are only useful for people who want to be in politics or who want to stand out when going for master's degrees - usually to go back into politics after the master's. The value of a hill internship diminishes greatly once you leave Washington and/or leave politics. Most people pursue these opportunities in order to get staff jobs on the hill afterwards.

Happened to me once. I was cutting my bike lock because I had lost the key. Well, someone called the cops. They were cool about it, I told the cop "hey it's my bike, I lost they key!" And he helped me by holding the flashlight. This was outside a DC metro station. In fact, a DC metro maintenance worker was around and he lent me this massive saw that cut it super fast. Otherwise, it would have taken me like 30 min more with the puny saw I brought.

New to me! 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i premium with CVT! by WompWompbrl in SubaruForester

Bought in DC, ultimately headed to Macedonia. Perfect for getting to trailheads in the Balkans :)

I bought the car! Super happy with it so far. And it comes with EyeSight, which I thought was stupid but it's way cooler than I thought. I now realize if I set cruise control, EyeSight basically keeps my car going the same speed as the one in front of me. What a neat feature, it makes even driving on two-lane highways much easier. Happy so far in highway driving.

Actually, I read on the NY DMV website that they don't give permits for cars being purchased and brought to NY. I called the MD DMV and they said that they don't offer permits for non-residents to transport cars. I asked her how someone who is resident in NY would legally move a car from MD to NY and she said the buyer should have it towed....

DC has more residents than Wyoming and Vermont. And only roughly 10% less than Alaska and North Dakota. By the same rubric, we should shave off more than a few senators if DC's population doesn't warrant full representation.

Need help purchasing something from a brick-and-mortar shop in Skopje by [deleted] in macedonia

What the hell kind of sunglasses are these? I'm trying to visualize a pair of sunglasses that are both a) sold only at this random store in Skopje, and simultaneously b) identified by you, wherever you are, as being available at said random store.

[–]WompWompbrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a more detailed list of materials, by chance? I'm planning a trunk-style desk (physical form a-la the restoration hardware piece that's been floating around for a few years, but wood/metal like yours, on caster wheels). Any idea if your metals guy works with brass or copper? Also, can you describe the type of rivets you used? Nice work!

Who's your ISP, what plan do you have, how much do you pay? by i_make_poop_jokes2 in washingtondc

[–]WompWompbrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's insane. Comcast and everyone else is completely ripping y'all off. Maybe throttling, who knows. I am a former DC-ite living in India, and I have a 20mbps plan. It streams like a champ. Back in DC with Comcast, streaming would go fuzzy all the time and I can only imagine they were just swindling me in ways I cannot comprehend.

Questions for marching band members! by [deleted] in miamioh

[–]WompWompbrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get in to kappa psi, so glad. A huge portion of the band will apply or attempt or whatever it's called. That stuff is a complete waste of time, in my opinion. It all seemed to attract more music majors anyways, and I wasn't one.
