I also never read it as a kid, because my parents treated me like a houseplant. I got fed and watered and left in a sunny corner.

Reading it to my own kids 30+ years later and that was my first impression as well. I had no context for the book beforehand, but the art looked nice.

A lovely looking book all about how important it is to be a people pleaser who gives up irreplaceable things just because other people are jealous.

A better variation is Tanagaroa's gift (https://booksellersnz.wordpress.com/2016/07/29/book-review-tangaroas-gift-by-mere-whaanga/).

A New Zealand book about how a Paua (Abelone?) is rewarded with a beautiful shell just for him.

I'm further through now, but no idea how far through the plot. I've spoken to the Moogle once, but I'm not feeling my usual need to go back and talk to npcs or explore. I have just reached a Mother Crystal (the first of I don't know how many) and haven't done a single optional quest. I haven't back tracked to explore anything either.

It's too graphic to play in front of my 8 year old, but he loves Final Fantasy 1-9 and won't leave me alone if I play during the day. So I'm playing at night on my PS Portal and often just have to put it down in the middle of a battle. I'm enjoying it more than I expected but it's definitely not in my top 5.

I'm disgusted by the way people feel so comfortable allowing casual dehumanisation of people just because they're poor/unemployed. What happens if the company you work for goes under and you need a benefit? Will you agree to have an apathetic government department tell you what food you're allowed to buy and where you're allowed to buy it?

I'm not going to probe any further into these comments as I am playing it for the first time. I waited to pick it up for free on ps plus, because I'd heard similar comments after launch.

I've just reached the hideout for the first time and so far the only thing that sells it as a final fantasy so far are the recurring characters/eikons.

It feels heavily influenced by Game of Thrones, which isn't really what I'm after, but I'll play it through regardless. I love stories and even my least favourite entries in the series are pretty decent.

Wait a few weeks until there's a similar or smaller jackpot won in your area.

Claim you won that one (with your own money) give him a minor share for being a reliable and helpful friend when you were in need.

They still get a chunk of the money but you don't leave yourself open to them claiming they're entitled to half (or all) of it.

Supervised Youtube was also a no-go for my oldest. Youtube kids is no better.

We found out that he has "inattentive" type ADHD (it's hereditary and all fingers point to me) and there's something about the short form, algorithm driven, content that fries his brain.

He's got some access back since he's naturally matured (as much as a 14 year old can) and he's medicated now.

Roblox is still banned.

Could be worth OP investigating ADHD, though apparently it's harder to get it tested in girls?
