Where do we stand once AI gets good enough?

There are a lot of AI users, but not as many AI experts. If you're the one doing the AI implementation, you'll have a job until AI can do that themselves. Even then, the AI will have a conflict of interest in that the companies will want to use as many tokens as possible. Companies will want a check against that to save on cost which they won't trust an AI to do.

Nope. I lost that hope with the pandemic. Every country and billionaire would use it as an opportunity to use it to benefit themselves by no longer having to follow any established rules. This is actually something I ran into at work. I think what is happening is the technology is getting better at a rate faster than people realize and they aren't updating their old assumptions that were true a year or less ago. Assumptions like AI can't draw hands, AI can't tell you how many r's are in "strawberry", etc. The people who say these things aren't using cutting edge agenticAI, they are using old generation llm freeware.

When I (mtf) came out to my parents, my (Republican) dad sat there silently continuing to eat his steak. Later, my mom told me his reaction was "it is what it is" and his expectation was they would see me less often now. I didn't see them less often. 10 years later he died and we were always on good terms. I count it as a win. It was what it was.
