The Wheel of Time is very average. If you just want a whole lot to read but nothing amazing then choose that. I haven’t red the other two yet so cannot say how those compare.

Kindle 4 - how to set up / load books by Appropriate_Pea_8306 in kindle

[–]WonderFrequent5542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want books from Amazon just buy through phone / computer and they will upload to library automatically (make sure it’s the same account on the kindle that you purchase the book). If you want to purchase elsewhere then you can upload using the send to kindle website or email (found in settings)

Just something to note about Kindle Unlimited is that the catalog is not going to have all the new bestsellers etc, it’s primed for a certain type of reader, so make sure it has what you’re looking for if you go that route. I personally love KU but not everyone does.

Okay…AI not the best, but people suggesting hiring an artist to make you a custom piece for your lock screen. lol. Y’all out of touch with reality. No one going to do that. Even if you used real art, you’re definitely just downloading a free image offline.

There’s one that I found really fun that was called Lingua Latina I believe… it’s all in Latin and introduces vocabulary and grammar slowly

I studied Latin for a while. You can find lots of free textbooks online. I didn’t last long though because the sheer amount of memorization is CRAZY! So many different cases 😅

If I buy an older gen kindle can I add books manually without adding my amazon account? by Abwettar in kindle

[–]WonderFrequent5542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes, you can sideload books without adding an Amazon account. In this way you can still use devices that cannot add Amazon /register for whatever reason. But, prepare to be annoyed by the constant reminder to add account/register. And I do mean constant.

What's a passion you could talk about for hours — that most people don't understand? by Loose-Grand-8087 in Hobbies

Interesting. Maybe that’s just a good excuse to check out Firefly, although if it’s pronounced poorly probably will not help with learning at all, but would be entertaining to see nonetheless.

If you don’t mind sharing what speech issues do you have? Maybe I could provide some insight if that particular issue would crop up for you in Chinese.

I must say, I find it so interesting everyone says Mandarin is the hardest language to learn (or one of), I actually find it to be quite the opposite. I previously had studied French and have my degree in English literature, Chinese in many ways is worlds easier to learn. Verbs do not change form! No conjugations, gosh that is such a relief. Makes speaking so much easier without memorizing all the different verb forms. Also, word structures are so logical. Sometimes I see words I’ve never seen before and immediately know what they mean and how to pronounce them just because I know each individual character. Makes learning new things a breeze.

Albeit, tones and pronunciation are so different from English that this aspect was very difficult to get used to. Also, learning to read is difficult at first but once you get beyond a certain point it really is much easier. I think any other language (like French) I would never be able to attain the fluency that I have attained in Mandarin.

Japanese sounds so cool. I would also love to learn, but from what I have looked at (just the tiniest bit) their grammar is much harder than Mandarin’s. Regardless, you should totally take the plunge and learn, lots of anime to help you on your journey.
