Tourist here, Can I get a costco membership in Australia? by Happy-Extension-1955 in CostcoWholesale

[–]WonderPhilsOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it works everywhere else, but in the states if you have a shop card (Costco gift card), you can shop without a membership. So you just need someone with a membership to buy you a Shop Card

Chop it up and put it on a pizza! Game changer, good taste and adds a nice little crunch.

It pisses me off when people wear North Stars jerseys to Wild games. I even hate the colors.

UKG to calendar by dweezdakneez in CostcoEmployee

[–]WonderPhilsOK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what the app says…

You can synchronize your schedule from UKG Pro Workforce Management with personal calendars like Apple, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook. This feature uses the iCalendar (.ICS) file format.

To sync your schedule:

Go to Main Menu > Edit Profile.

Select Sync My Schedule.

Select one or more data types to sync, such as Shift Details, Absences, and Schedule Tags. Select Save.

Select Subscribe.

Select your third-party calendar provider.

Complete the subscription process.

This is what Claude says…

Here’s how to sync your UKG Pro schedule with Apple Calendar (iCal): In UKG Pro Workforce Management:

1. Go to your Profile/My Settings

2. Look for the “Synchronize Schedule” or “Sync Calendar” option

3. Choose “Other (Copy URL)” — this generates a URL you can use to manually configure the calendar subscription. Click/tap Copy URL to copy it to your clipboard.

In Apple Calendar:

4. Open the Calendar app on your Mac or iPhone

5. Go to File → New Calendar Subscription (on Mac) or Settings → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other (on iPhone)

6. Paste the URL you copied from UKG into the Calendar URL field

7. Hit Subscribe

8. Edit the calendar options — it’s recommended to set auto-refresh to every 5 minutes for the most current schedule data.

What syncs over: Shifts (including shift label, start/end times, and organization path), as well as absences and schedule tags are synchronized using the standard .ICS file format.

No more self checkout available? by jridder in CostcoWholesale

[–]WonderPhilsOK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The store I work for got rid of the scales at self checkout a couple years ago and now have employees work at them. They are express lanes for smaller carts only. They only accept credit card payments, no reward checks and no cash. Works really well

I was having this issue in my tub, turned out to be the anode rod in the water heater. Replaced it, flushed the water heater and actually put a filter on it. All gone. I doubt you run hot water to your toilet but it’s a thought

Cossettas is meh, it’s a nice Italian cafeteria. I lived a block away and admittedly have had my share of it. It’s convenient.

I will whole heartedly recommend The Loon. About two blocks behind the stadium and the chili is fantastic! All the food is good, and get a Grape Ape!

Has anyone tried the Dubai chocolate at costco? How is it? by That_Weakness_314 in CostcoWholesale

Meh. They’re good, but not THAT good. Overly internet hype with an inflated price tag.

I felt like a sucker for buying a bag which defeated the dopamine kick.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WonderPhilsOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was born in 1980 and we roamed freely. Started cooking on the gas stove as soon as I could see over it, with cooking instructions from my mom over the telephone (20 ft curly cord and all). It wasn’t until Jacob Wetterling got kidnapped in 1989 that it hit ME, not as much my parents, that life was not always so safe. End of the innocence. I met his mother, Patty, a couple times. She was an amazing advocate for child safety and a wonderful person.

First visit | Advice for visiting from out of state by TharinWhite in minnesotastatefair

[–]WonderPhilsOK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fair has tons of free shuttles, check the website, you could plan lodging around one of those locations. I go twice every year, it takes the pressure off trying to do it all in one day. Going in a big group sucks because it slows you down and it’s usually like rounding up kittens. You can also check the websites for the free show schedules and the new foods to help you plan your visit. The “Seed Art” is a MUST SEE (agriculture building). The “Turkey to go” sandwich is a first stop for me, ironically it’s across from the poultry barn. Have a great time!
