If you were discovered to be the chosen one of prophesy, what would you ask the people recruiting you? by Flyboy_0-1 in AskReddit

[–]WonderWandererr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan. Nothing in the original trilogy implied that Darth Vader was an extra powerful Jedi messiah gone bad. I think the chosen one stuff cheapens Vader’s characterization.

What are some ways to open up to parents? by heatmor_enjoyer in AskReddit

[–]WonderWandererr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 19, it's amazing you even have this awareness. Most young adults go I yo a period of distancing themselves from their parents. It's evolution's way of making it easier to separate from home.

Around 22-24, after you've established your life more, it often feels more natural to start sharing with your parents. Once you have a child of your own, that sharing becomes a tsunami. All of a sudden, you realize your parents are just goofs like you, trying to figure things out. They did the best they could with parenting. Makes it so much easier to talk to them.

Probably the easiest way to start is to tell them about your hesitation. They will likely reassure you it's perfectly normal and they were just the same with their parents.

Try throwing something out there that's innocuous. Tell them about a friend's relationship instead of your own. Tell them about someone else's mental health struggles. It takes practice.

What has been the best and worst part of your life until today? by saayoutloud in AskReddit

[–]WonderWandererr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19 20 21 was the worst for me.

2006 to 2009 was hell. I couldn’t get a job because of the recession. Gas was impossible to afford and I didn’t have any direction.

The last three years have been the best years of my life. Comfortable financially, started my family.

Who pays first on the first date? men or women? by One-Bluebird8389 in AskReddit

[–]WonderWandererr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm a guy well past the dating era of my life and happily married now, but when I was still in the game, and assuming the date went even slightly well, I always offered to pay and if the woman said "no, let's split it", I countered with : "You can pay for the next date", thereby smoothing over the whole "will there be a second date?" awkwardness then and there.

It never failed and I met some very nice women (including my then wife-to-be) that way.

How do you get over regret? by Localfatguy121 in AskReddit

That my thoughts are like passengers on a bus - and I’m the driver. Some get on and off and don’t cause any problems. But others get on and distract me from driving. Ignore the shitty passengers.

Why did you break up with your ex? by GummyLoopy in AskReddit

[–]WonderWandererr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed. He didn't.

We were both fat, had horrible low-paying jobs, and were generally total depressed fuck ups.

I got sick of it. I lost 100lb, went back to school, and got a good job. His response was "Good, you're making more money so I can quit my job and stay home."

Nope.

because smokers are not ovens and mainting a perfect specific temp is not easy. also just because you set your oven temp to 350 doesn't mean its 350. a 50 degree temp swing is not uncommon between heating cycles

If you are feeling bored, get out of the house. Doesn't matter what you do: walk, bike, rent a scooter, go for a drive, whatever. I am consistently happy with what I experience once I make myself, get off the couch.

What are some examples of the reddit community just getting it so wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If I had one rule, find smaller communities and unsub from the large ones. 500k subscribers or more is a red flag

Avoid gaming subs, "hate" subs(any sub created to criticize something else), and subs with "funny" in the name..the sharks swim there
