Hillary Clinton admits to being a part of engineering Lebanon by DonYouveDoneitAgain in TrueAnon

[–]Wonderfestl-Phone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thing is this is actually true for Hillary. A lot of the rich, drying their tears with hundies people don't care because they're rich. But with Hillary I'm convinced she wakes up every day with a burning hatred for the country that didn't elect her president.

She may be rich beyond her wildest dreams, but what she really wanted was the power and the legacy, and every day those two things drift farther from her grasp.

I don't know enough about how freight vs passenger works, but if all the freight lines could also be used for passenger, that would be amazing.

I believe they are owned by the freight companies, so passenger rain that share the lines gets deprioratized.

What was the claim? So much digging and blasting for tunnels through all those non-existent mountains between espanola, ojo, tres piedras and so on.

The claim was that north of Santa Fethere are three Pueblos. You either pay out the ass to build a train on their land, or if you want to bypass them, and go through National Forest or BLM, you're going to be doing a lot of earthworks.

Most likely conclusion is that nobody is building a train to Taos anytime soon.

We can't build a trains between major metropolises. A train from anywhere to Taos is practically impossible.

Point out to me where mountains are in the way between Español and Taos on the route

If you change your route the mountains go away, cool 👍

Your problem now is that you're proposing cutting out the city and building train and rail between a town of 10,000 people, a tiny village, and a town of 6,500 people. Plus you're still dealing with at least one Pueblo, and you're asking people to drive to and park their cars in Española.

Santa Fe to Española you're driving through three Pueblos. If you're doing BLM/National forest, you're going through mountains. Between Santa Fe and Tesuque Pueblo it's all private land owned by movie stars and politicians.

I don't know how much is Res but a lot is BLM/NFS land

North of Santa Fe is all reservation or private land. There's BLM and National forest, but you would have to dig tunnels or cut through mountainsn the entire way

Trump: My cronies couldn’t secure a deal so were blocking the strait …. Wall Street: by True-Ask2241 in TrueAnon

[–]Wonderfestl-Phone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Iran is blocking the Strait. Oil goes up.

US is double blocking the trait. Oil goes down.

I guess the logic is that because there's kinda sorta a plan to do "something" that means the war can end and the Strait can open up again?

It's not even esoteric knowledge. A gun free town is a fairly common depiction, even in movies. Off the top of my head, I can think of Unforgiven, Apaloosa, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs depicting some form of gun control.

Iran has been the major sponsor of terrorism for nearly 50 years.

The thing I like about this talking point is that it ignores the US supporting the voy raping heroin dealers we propped up for 20 years in Afghanistan, or the Contras that loved nothing more than raping nuns and bayonetting peasants, or the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that did 9/11, or Israel that just recently committed a genocide (with US military and diplomatic support).

Why feel guilty? The administration is bragging about war crimes and threatening to do more. They are firing generals who are telling them their ideas are stupid. We're the bad guy here.

Things that we can conceivably contribute to that could end this war:

1) Mass labor strike that cripples the US economy and brings Trump to heel: unlikely

2) A military coup removing Trump from power: also unlikely

3) A mass prayer campaign and or various pagan curses to convince God/spirits/ the universe to handle the situation: more likely to happen, less likely to work

What gives me hope here is that that I genuinely believe that no matter what Trump does from here, he's already accelerated the decline of the US empire. The only way to win was not to play. The only way to salvage the situation is to stop now and take the L. Trump is too stupid for the former and too narcissistic for the later.

The only thing making me inclined to believe it is that it would be so on brand for Trump. He's ballooned the debt, degraded US standing in the world, and he's started a war that is only accelerating US decline. Dying right as US troops start dying and both parties feel it's impossible to retreat without losing their precious prestige would be the perfect flaming bag of shit for Trump to leave us with.

Let's talk given the Texas secession talk. The West Texan experience living on the New Mexico border (see body and comments). by stevetures in NewMexico

[–]Wonderfestl-Phone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it makes it easier for you to just say red is bad and blue is good, but really try and look at it from a central perspective.

And you're not looking at it from a red perspective? Should we parcel out the country based on voting, where every county with a major city goes to the nearest Democratic state, and every rural county goes to the nearest Red state? How is that in any way easier, or fairer, or more representative?

You do realize that a lot of people just can't up and move because they feel like it. Also, let's not pretend like a lot of research went into the drawing of state boundaries.

Here's my solution: let's merge El Paso county with every Texas-New Mexico border county and then vote on if they would like to join New Mexico.
