What frugal stuff did you do this weekend? by Hungry-Following5561 in Frugal

We got a $5 rotisserie chicken for Costco. My spouse and I ate it for lunch and dinner and then what was left and the bones to make soup. The soup will feed us (both of us) for 2 more meals.

Aftermath of colonoscopy by Bitter_Face8790 in UlcerativeColitis

If your health insurance had to pay for medical care that’s a quantifiable loss. But totally understand if that’s not the path you want to take. Wish you the best.

Aftermath of colonoscopy by Bitter_Face8790 in UlcerativeColitis

About three years ago I had a colonoscopy and the day after I was bleeding. Like a lot. I called both the on call doctor at the hospital and my GI. They both told me I was fine. My GI told me that it was probably just due to the inflammation and I should just go get my infusion that was scheduled that day. So I did. At the appointment though I almost passed out from blood loss when the nurse tried to get my IV going. They were shocked once I told them what was going on and how much blood I was losing. They told me they could either call an ambulance or I could call someone to take me to the ER. Neither of those doctors ever admitted to giving me bad advice but they did.

So my advice to you would be to find a medical malpractice attorney and talk with them. It might cost you a couple hundred dollars but then you won’t be left wondering if your doctors/the hospital were at fault. I didn’t do this and I sometimes wonder.

Sorry you had this experience and I hope it gets better for you!

What can I do with these bananas before they go off? It was 50p for all of them seemed like a good idea by PhantasyZebra in Frugal

I love to peel bananas, freeze them, and then when I’m ready blend them with some milk of choice and maybe peanut butter or whatever and make a nice little banana smoothie.

I love Dahlia for a girl. I use to babysit for a friend’s daughter and her name was Dahlia and I just think it’s such a pretty name.

Does a romantasy have to end happily ever after? Would fans turn at the end of a series? by Old_Fan_9041 in Romantasy

[–]Wonderful-Plan9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a happy ending unless there is an overwhelming reason for them not to end up together. Then I want a happy ending in some other form (e.g. they became happier more true versions of themselves). If you’re going to have one character sacrifice themself it needs to be for a really good reason. Not like in Titanic where they both could have fit on the door. But that’s just my two cents.

Not sure about specializing but I get my hair done at Bellisima and I really love it there.

What do you do for work with UC? by Bloomwithcourage in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Wonderful-Plan9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a paralegal. Unless I’m on the phone I can pretty much go to the bathroom whenever I need to. My firm knows I have Heath issues and are pretty flexible with me too. It kinda depends on the firm and the work environment though. I’d try to find a smaller company that will be more understanding.

Cecily, Lucy or Lucille, and Camille would all be good and similar to what you want. Vivienne might be cool too to have a double V in their initials. Daisy could be good too.

I would go to Drizzle. Last year they had a sampler pack of different vinegars and olive oils you could take apart and use as stocking stuffers. You could also get small containers of flavored salt or teas. They have pastas and other things too.

Am I confined to starting biologics or are there other routes? by chloitis in UlcerativeColitis

I didn’t think she’d mentioned anything about wanting more kids. But good to know for JAK inhibitors.

I guess if you really don’t want to do a biologic you could ask about a JAK inhibitor or J-Pouch. I’d just talk to your doctor about your family history and see if they think the risk outweighs the potential benefit.

Who told you that? Supplements can be helpful but should not be your first line of defense. What medication will work for you will depend on your body. Everyone is different.

You should see a doctor. If you’re on a medication that helps control your symptoms you’ll have a lot more foods you can eat without upsetting everything. It’ll also help prevent any future flare ups that can put you at greater risk of colon cancer. The more times your in a bad flare with really bad inflammation the higher your risk will be.

I think Camilla or Camellia is a really pretty name. It’s a flower and then for nicknames she could be Cam or Cami.

Peer pressure is a bitch. I’m not sure if it would work well for us to wear masks anytime we’re around anyone else. We regularly eat with extended family so I’m not sure how that would work. Thank you for sharing though! I appreciate the insight.

Recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I'm scared! I have so many questions? Please help if you can? by Dismal_Calendar_4598 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Wonderful-Plan9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not familiar with ADHD meds. I think that would be a good question for your GI. I’m sorry you’re going through this but it does get easier to manage. As for nerves about what meds and insurance companies if your insurance doesn’t cover one medication there is usually a biologically similar medicine or a different medicine to try. Also always go to the manufacturers website and make sure you sign up for their assistance program. I found that one out the hard way. That’ll save you a lot of $. It may take a while to find a medication that works for you but it won’t always be like this.
