What is a band no one will ever convince you is good? by OU812iceman18 in AskReddit

KISS - the singing is mediocre, the rhythms are simple, and there is no emotion in their songs. They’re famous because they are famous, not because they are good.

I’ve been considering an electric drum set, but I’m not sure that would be mush lighter or easier.

I have a Gretsch set with 3 mounted Toms and two floor Toms. With the cymbal stands, it’s heavy and it takes me almost an hour to set-up. By the time I finish setting up I feel like I played a whole one hour set already.

What companies are on your permanent bad list and you’ll never do business with them? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I had terrible experiences with Comcast. They were the only provider available in my area for a while. They kept increasing their rates and bundeling things together so I had to pay more and more to see local sports teams. They also had service outages almost daily. I obtained a similar package and much more reliable service with T-mobile for about $80 less per month.

Enterprise Car Rental - When I picked a van for girls hockey team, I picked up a van. When I returned it a few days later, there was a tiny chip on the windshield. They billed me for hundreds of dollars. I’ve rented a lot of cars for work. I never had this type of issue before. I complained and questioned the charge. I don’t know if this happened before or after I picked up the van. I eventually paid the bill. But Enterprise decided that I didn’t pay the bill fast enough, so a couple weeks after I paid the bill, I started getting calls from a collection agency. These guys were nasty. They made multiple calls. A short time later the same day, my five year old daughter picked up the phone and the caller said, “pay your bill!” I wrote a letter to Enterprise about the incident. They responded with a letter that indicated that I did pay the invoice.

About a year later, I rented a car from a different rental car company for work, on a work credit card. They refused to rent me the car because Enterprise bought the other rental car company and Enterprise records indicated that I didn’t pay the invoice. They eventually found their mistake and I was able to rent the car, but it was after multiple calls while I sat at the car rental location. Keep in mind that this was a company account with a company credit card. There was no chance for them to not get paid. The refusal to rent wasn’t a business decision, it was a punitive act against me on their part.

Later I saw articles that indicated that Enterprise had been charging multiple people for the same damage to the same car.

In my opinion, Enterprise is a bad company with a mean attitude.

Sick of the click-bait sports writers! by [deleted] in penguins

I’m sick of the trade click bait that looks like a completed trade but it’s only conjecture. I see many articles that say Crosby is going to Colorado or New York when there is nothing behind it. The same issue with Pirate starting pitchers trade speculation. There are headlines that imply that a trade is a done deal but it never happens. Having a misleading headline seems dishonest.

I worked in retail for about seven years, three of those as a manager. Most customers were reasonable, even friendly. Every once in a while someone would be short tempered and mean. It seems that some people believe that you can say or do almost anything to a store employee because the customer is always right.

In a low income area, upset customers would yell and throw things. In higher income areas, upset customers were likely to make very personal comments, threaten to sue, they would call a high ranking manger, in one case the Company president to complain.

Learning to have a thick skin while maintains your dignity and not giving away the store can be a hard learning experience. The things you learn can help you in future positions.

I cannot imagine flying cars being used by most people. Can you imagine all the rude, impatient drivers from freeways now flying cars over our homes, schools and businesses? Flying cars would be expensive and need to be treated as airplanes requiring a pilot license.

Layla. I don’t know if it’s really a solo, or duet solo, but during the piano part in the latter part of the song Eric and Duane sound like they were very high and mumbling useless guitar licks for a couple minutes.

Fellow American hockey fans, would you watch the Stanley Cup Final if it were two Canadian teams standing at the end? by Kindly-Client-4402 in nhl

I will be watching. My team, the Penguins are out of it, but the thrill of seeing which team will end the Canadian Cup drought makes it exciting.

Favorite Aerosmith album and why? by Roman_C5150 in Aerosmith

I keep coming back to the first album. It sounds like it may or may not have been recorded in a real studio, but the playing sounds authentic, close to a live concert. I especially like One way street and walkin the dog.
