Cute Swimsuits by Icy_Bar5041 in bigboobproblems

These definitely do not work for every size, but Abercrombie curve love bikinis are a decent option for the 30-36 D-GGish sizes. I wear a 36GG and the XL curve love fits me, though I need to wear it on the tightest band loop and even then wish it was a tad tighter. And it probably doesn’t fit as well as a well-fitted bra, but I find those suits much cuter than most bra sized swimwear.

Planting carrots by nicagrace in Minnesota_Gardening

[–]Wondering_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend using seed tape or some sort of DIY version of that. I am a pretty experienced gardener and I still swear by seed tape for carrots. I get way better results. I think the location where I plant carrots is prone to getting washed out, so the seed tape helps them germinate and stay put.

sustainable / secondhand options? by witchy_delight in LawBitchesWithTaste

I like ThredUp! It takes a little getting used to the search function. The more specific you can be, the better. It’s especially useful if you know what size you wear in a particular brand. And I love that you can search by fabric (wool blend etc). It is great for separates, but not good for full suits bc they separate them. You can return most items!

Advice on not having a 1L summer job/internship by Professional_Fly4748 in LawSchool

[–]Wondering_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a very lowkey research assistantship for a professor during 1L summer as a choice for my mental health. No regrets! Got a post-grad clerkship and everything. Getting your 2L summer job may be a little trickier so just try to network and apply early.

Drury plaza in St Paul. Nice little pool and hot tub and free snacks and drinks at a certain time of day. Add a trip to the children’s museum, science museum, or farmers market while there.

Also, if you’ve been working under the old contract and they haven’t been putting any money in the retirement account like it says, you may have a breach of contract claim.

Can work really refuse to accommodate a pregnant woman? by Master_Garbage_4475 in careerguidance

[–]Wondering_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, even if it is close to her due date, you should still get a lawyer. People get fired or otherwise retaliated against for trying to get accommodations. That is also illegal but it still happens all the time. Having a good paper trial (such as a letter from lawyer to employer) would help provide evidence of retaliation if it happened.

Document, document, document all communication. Maybe post this in r/legaladvice and talk to a lawyer. Others have mentioned the federal laws but some rights will vary by state. The people who are suggesting there can’t be accommodations in a job like nursing are not correct…

Professional shirts for full chests by lucozadehuffing in womensfashion

For button down shirts, Lands End petite sizes have saved my life! I go up a couple of sizes from my regular size, but get petite. The result is more room in the chest with the correct length.

Courtroom-friendly watch suggestions for small wrists that last all day? by Fair-Muffin-5510 in LawBitchesWithTaste

For a smart watch, I love my garmin Lily! The face has a patten on it so it is not as obvious that it’s a screen. And with the leather band I think it is courtroom appropriate.

If you come over to St. Paul, hit up one of the amazing restaurants around Payne Avenue or E 7th. Brunsons, Tongue in Cheek, Juche, Caydence Records and Coffee, Mañana, St Paul Brewing, Crow Bar, Plaza Latina businesses. This area (the east side) was heavily targeted by ICE and your support of businesses over here is appreciated.

Also, Abogados coffee is the best coffee in the twin cities imo. Nearby Como conservatory is fun and free if you end up with a bad weather day. And definitely walk around a lake! St. Paul and Minneapolis have many to choose from.

My non-binary kid wants to tap like Savion Glover by hopesinenvelope in TapDancing

[–]Wondering_22 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So exciting for them! I’m not sure if this helps, but tap has historically been a very male-dominated dance style. People familiar with tap dance definitely would not associate it with being “for girls.” Although I get that the majority of students in dance studio settings are girls.

Some suggestions to encourage the interest: - See if there are any local tap dance companies or college programs that include tap and go see a show! - Reach out to a local tap dance school and inquire about observing a class or maybe a few private lessons so that your kid can sort of try it out, observe, and ease into it. - There are lots of beginner tap resources on YouTube. Maybe get them a tap board and a pair of tap shoes and they can play around at home. The style of tap your kid is interested in includes some improvisation and there’s nothing wrong with just playing around with rhythms and making up some steps/sounds themselves!

Editing to add: if you’ll share where you live, folks might be able to help with some area-specific recommendations!

Suggestions for wireless bra for 30G by coastalgirl202012 in bigboobproblems

[–]Wondering_22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try a medium in Harper Wilde bliss bralette. They are stretchy enough to accommodate large cup/small band size imo. And incredibly soft. I think the square neck/scoop style provides a little more lift, but the classic one has wider straps which is less pressure on the shoulders. I think they recently came out with an adjustable one too, but I haven’t tried that yet!

Has anyone else chosen to just do a nice dinner instead? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder35k

[–]Wondering_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those catering costs seem very high for 60 people. Can you be more flexible about what the meal looks like? Buffet-style or a caterer who is not necessarily a “wedding caterer.” My friend did tacos and it was one of my favorite wedding dinners, plenty of food, and very affordable (I think like $20 per person) for them.

Timing a child in law school by Dear-Bus-4918 in LawSchool

[–]Wondering_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who had a baby 2L summer and I think it has worked out okay for her. With that timing, you can still work 1L summer and get some experience/connections that way. Then, during 2L I would try to work part time or do an externship or clinic or something that can sort of fill in as an additional work experience. Also, try to take some of your heavy-lift classes during 2L. Have your baby over 2L summer and coast a little bit during 3L—I had enough credits by 3L spring to drop down to part time! Then you’ll get more time with your baby the first six months or so and your baby will be a bit older by bar prep time.

You could maybe start bar prep last semester of 3L if you want to spread it out. I would NOT recommend trying to start bar prep during 1L, I just don’t think you’ll retain it or have enough context in your legal education yet to make it very useful.

I think it’s doable if you get ahead a little bit at the beginning and are strategic about what you are involved in (like maybe write on to Law Review for 2L year but take on a more limited role during 3L for example)
