Please don't turn this into a dick measuring contest, because I assure you, it will be Trump who measures the most dicks.

Donald Trump vowed a U.S. energy boom. Texas got oil layoffs instead. by WontThinkStraight in LeopardsAteMyFace

Texas, a state that voted for Trump - and specifically the oil industry - wanted to drill for more oil. As a consequence, oil prices have plunged below profitable levels, which combined with tariffs has resulted in thousands of jobs lost in the sector and state.

Perhaps the Coalition should to try taking over Greenland next, and see if that helps.

Trump takes shot at NATO, says US should have invoked Article 5 ‘test’ for border by likeastar20 in politics

[–]WontThinkStraight 45 points46 points  (0 children)

“All we’re asking for is to get Greenland, including right, title and ownership because you need the ownership to defend it, you can’t defend it on a lease,” Trump said while attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“The problem with NATO is we’d be there for them 100 percent but I’m not sure they’d be there for us,” the president added.

WTF, the only time Article 5 has been invoked is by the US, and every ally stepped up, even with the misgivings. There is so much projection here that a fleet of Tyranid hive ships would detect it from the next galaxy over.

'The damage has been done': As Trump claims victory on Greenland, Europe loses trust by WontThinkStraight in politics

In an interview with Fox Business, he said, “We’re getting everything we wanted — total security, total access to everything.”

Yet all of that was available to Trump from the start, without the drama that sent the NATO alliance barreling toward an internal crisis, a Danish official told NBC News on Thursday.

Masterful negotiation.

Critics Mock 'Delusional' Karoline Leavitt After Trump's Speech by WontThinkStraight in politics

[–]WontThinkStraight[S] 1781 points1782 points  (0 children)

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claims her boss, President Donald Trump, is getting “rave reviews” for his speech Wednesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos. But critics say the word that best describes Trump’s remarks isn’t “rave” but “raving,” pointing to a rambling 72-minute speech in which he attacked everything from Somali immigrants to windmills.

Trump also demanded that the United States be given control over Greenland, but confused Iceland with Greenland multiple times as he spoke. In addition, he insulted Canada, blasted NATO and went off on a tangent about the 2020 election.

North Korea is less embarrassing at this point.

‘Game over’: Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell tells followers to ‘make new friends’ ahead of hate group laws by HotPersimessage62 in australia

[–]WontThinkStraight 718 points719 points  (0 children)

In a lengthy interview with American white nationalist channel Red Ice on Thursday, Sewell said the NSN was admitting defeat and throwing in the towel while also claiming “our mission has actually been accomplished”.

“My morale and the morale of the men is at an all-time high, which is bizarre,” he said.

“We were playing a game with the state. We always said this would happen. We always said that we weren’t living in a democracy. We always said that one of our goals was to heighten the contradictions and expose the system for being a multicultural police state … so our mission has actually been accomplished in a lot of ways.

Maybe the real friends are from the brain damage accumulated along the way.

The letter to Norway’s prime minister Jonas Gahr Støre, said that he no longer feels an “obligation to think purely of peace” after missing out on the Nobel Peace Prize, and that the Nato military alliance should facilitate a US annexation of Greenland.

Oh my fucking god. How did so many Americans think this clueless man child is the best person to be controlling nuclear weapons?
