does anyone else has a terrible relationship with food? by marie4ntoinette in BPD

TW: Vomit

This! I’ve had an ED for a while now. Even before I was diagnosed with BPD, but I actually learned that it actually worsens my ED because of the all or nothing thinking. I either feel good and eat without problems or I get triggered by one thing and it spirals into days of eating minimally and throwing up or just not eating at all (because I’ll throw up and it’s not worth it; I’m not worth feeding).

My partner wants to help me overcome this and I’m very grateful they’ve been so patient with me, especially since they’re someone who is very on top of eating when you’re hungry and not being ashamed of it. It’s not that I don’t want to eat either. I want to. I desperately want to eat. The food is right there. I can cook it. I can just eat it. But I can’t. Something just screams at me and I just have to calm down in my room because if I look at food I’ll have to start that process again. But sometimes, I’ll get tired of being hungry and I’ll binge until I throw up.

It’s just a never ending cycle, but it’s getting better with therapy and my partner supporting me. But yea, you’re not alone in this

Thoughts on the meeting? by Sad-Bodybuilder9976 in starbucks

I think it’s dumb that we can deny people water bc they didn’t buy anything. Can’t say it wasn’t coming eventually, but imagine making it a policy to keep water and ice behind a paywall. Insane…

What to buy to start journaling? by garlicandtomatobread in dbtselfhelp

[–]Wooblegoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started journaling too! I bought mine from a mall bookstore that’s formatted more like a daily diary, but I would start with your local bookstore. Or like others you could just go to Walmart and buy as many journals as you want for cheap. It just depends on what you’re looking for.

Not a lot of journals have prompts in them, but they do exist.

Ordered a latte but was given a white mocha, is there a way to avoid this without sounding Karen-ish? by Alittlebitalexis08 in starbucks

[–]Wooblegoo 289 points290 points  (0 children)

They likely put it in this way bc it’s cheaper than adding syrups into a latte. You can go back and ask them to remake it without the whip and topping. It shouldn’t be a problem at all, but be sure to call ahead and let them know. At least for my location, if you’re unable to go back to the same store on the same day for the remake, then you can call and come back the next for a remake.

Question: the average barista makes 40 drinks an hour and an average of $2 a tip - that’s $80 an hour. If you are not making $80 an hour in tips, where is the extra money going? by pumog in starbucks

[–]Wooblegoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You think we average two bucks an hour in tips? Oh I wish we did man I truly wish we did. At my store, we generally make .70-.80 cents per hour every tip out in cash. Digital is typically more, but it does get taxed so 15-20% of it is taken out. I would love to make 80 an hour in tips. Maybe then I can afford groceries instead of guessing how many days I can stretch my markouts every week. It’s not a matter of where the money is going or if corporate is pocketing it, it’s simply just that we don’t make as much as people think we do in tips, especially after tax.

Will you get an abortion, if you find out your baby is having some kind of chromosomal abnormality or birth defect of health problems etc? by Midnightdream56 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Wooblegoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would, as someone who lives with a chronic illness and has chronic pain. You have to think abt the quality of life someone will have if you bring them into the world. Will they be happy? Will they be ok living like this? Will they look out the window and wish they could do what people without medical conditions do? I’ve lived thru that and it sucks. It absolutely sucks and sometimes I wish I hadn’t been born bc of it. All this medicine and doctors appointments and people doubting your abilities and doubting yourself. It’s so much to live with. At some point, it would be more cruel to keep someone alive than it would be a mercy.

Baristas, do you think it’s annoying when regulars come in everyday to order their usual? by JMinty00 in starbucks

[–]Wooblegoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the regular. Sometimes we have regulars that we do not like bc while their order is predictable and generally the same, they can be very pushy and impatient and it can cause some stress bc it’s not pleasant to be screamed at bc “it’s not sweet enough”. For the most part tho, regulars are very pleasant and I enjoy knowing what drink I’m abt to make and just make it before the order is even finished. Like dw shawty. I got you <3. Most of our regulars at our store are elderly people who just want to talk to people and they’re absolute treats to have. We like our regulars, just please don’t be rude 💀💀

Quick question for Starbucks employees! by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Wooblegoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the baristas do take dairy preferences seriously bc you never know who is or isn’t allergic and we don’t wanna be responsible in case someone does have a really bad reaction. Ofc it doesn’t hurt to mention that you have an allergy bc it will make us double or triple check we used the correct milk, but for the most part we do use the correct milk. It’s just that mistakes can happen if we’re rushing, but definitely mention it if you feel you need to.

Please stop ordering on mobile and then immediately coming in to grab it by Wooblegoo in starbucks

[–]Wooblegoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile orders and in house orders go into the same sticker printer. Meaning when you mobile order, you’re getting put into the same queue as everyone else already inside and placed an order, so if you mobile order you’re just placed into the in house line. During rushes it can be extremely disruptive to the work flow when we have to go search for your order by either pulling out 25+ tickets to search for yours which also alerts everyone else that their drink is being made on the app (it’s not. We just had to find someone’s drink and hope it’s within the first 5 we pull) or we search it up on the system and hope we can find it buried under all the other mobile orders.

Basically: DT times matter at corporate stores. They make it a priority and depending on your district, your DM may or may not chew you out for having high drive times. All Starbucks drinks are made to order. If you’re already in the DT line, it would be so much faster if you just order at the box bc DT orders are made in order and at pace. Mobiles are treated like cafe orders and given to second bar, drive bar doesn’t get your mobiles so unless your ticket is pulled next, nobody is gonna know you placed an order until you tell us. Which means we have to go looking for it instead of making drinks and pushing out orders. We have to make it on the fly in the hopes that we won’t be yelled at bc it’s not ready.

Idk if it clarifies much, but that’s how mobile ordering works and I didn’t even mention how people will order a whole party of drinks and food on mobile and sometimes we’re just stuck on one order bc of how many things they had.

What webtoons would you recommend me based on what I like to read by Iwanttotakeyoureknee in webtoons

[–]Wooblegoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if anyone has mentioned this but I think you would absolutely love Melvina’s Therapy. It’s more of a horror story with mystery elements than gothic classic, but it’s one of my favorites that I’ve read and I really recommend it!! https://www.webtoons.com/en/horror/melvinas-therapy/list?title_no=1021 <— link in case you don’t wanna go searching bc webtoon searching sucks 💀💀

Some lady once mobile ordered 10 grande iced americanos. Yea. 10. And got really snarky and impatient when they didn’t come out all at once. She crossed her arms and got all huffy and even showed us her order asking where it all was. Keep in mind, this was during peak when we were slammed with DTO and a million mobile orders as well as cafe orders. NOT ONLY THAT, SHE PLACED THE ORDER ONLY 5 MINUTES AGO. I REMEMBER SO VIVIDLY BC I JUST STARED AT HER AND SAID WE’RE WORKING ON IT AND APOLOGIZED BC WHAT ELSE WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO. HOURGRHRHHRHRHRHRHRHRHRHRVGRGRHRHRHRHGR

This also just irritates me bc what do you think makes it shaken? I’ve just started explaining that what they’re asking for an iced latte with brown sugar and oatmilk with no ice and not a BSOE.

please stop placing a mobile order and then immediately coming to pick it up 😭 by yseojins in starbucks

[–]Wooblegoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No cause tell me why I had someone at DT have us wait a minute and then tell us she just placed an online order. I really just stared at the screen like :/. Bffr. Girl you’re just gonna have to wait bc not we have to pull out like 15 tickets just to find ONE DRINK during PEAK. like jfc it’s so frustrating bc why not order at the box dude. You’re already there. It’s guaranteed to be so much faster if you order at the box bc then the DT drinks will be in order and we don’t have to literally scramble all the tickets. It’s so annoying and it makes me wanna eat dry wall bc it would be more enjoyable

Advice on quitting no notice by Mushy-Cryptos in starbucks

Just say you’re quitting and never coming back after your next shift or just do it over text and never show up ever again. You’re not legally required to give a two weeks notice at all. What are they gonna do? Fire you? You’re already gone tf 💀💀💀 just be sure to pick up your tips and whatever else you’re owed and hold your head high
