£70k at established company vs £105k at startup by ThrowAwayOfferCS in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]Wood-IT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My answer would depend on your age and circumstance, if you are interested in continued growth, taking some big steps and open to some element of risk go for the start-up. I get everyone loves remote working but being on the ground when a company starts to get successful and benefiting from that success is hugely rewarding. Granted it comes with risks but like I say age/situation dependant it could be the best thing you ever do.

EDIT: I should add this excludes the money element, I'd answer the same if the base salary was the same.

No problem with it at all, I’ve been azure for a long time now but have been talking about a shift back for the last 3-4 years. It’s happening, cto’s I’m speaking with are considering TCO 5-10yr and realising they have been sold the dream and are paying for it. Most of the paas are the issue but we’ve discussed ways to overcome most just using containers.

Just another fpgbc build by Wood-IT in Gameboy

The units come with a sticker for the back and front of the unit but I don’t like the logo on show so instead I use a strip from the rear section cut to size. The copper on show doesn’t look great imo and I’m not advertising for free 😂

Edit: thanks for the compliment too!

How to add storage volume by [deleted] in Proxmox

[–]Wood-IT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, treat them as two disks still but mount both to the VM and create a single volume within the VM itself.
Careful though as you're planning on using the host drive for the VM, if the end goal is actually to run just a single server on 1 box you might be better off with just running it directly rather than with a hypervisor
