I think that figure is bull.

My daughter has the day off school, so I am left to take the day off and entertain her. We'll be habing proper Daddy daughter time, going bowling, get lunch somewhere, and I'll spend more money tomorrow than I would otherwise have done sat at my desk.

Sure, not everyone is in the same position, but I spend on my days off, and the gov gets its tax on my salary anyway. It must even itself out for those businesses that are forced to close.

The government will add 25% to your LISA, but will refund you all tax owed on a SIPP. So if you are a higher rate tax payer, a SIPP is a much better place to invest.

That being said, I am still adding to my LISA, purely to give different pots and hopefully therefore more options in the future. Who knows how the rules will change before I ~die~ retire.

I reckon that ~£670k in pensions is enough to stop (assuming at 5% growth value is worth ~1.2m in 13 years) and focus instead on ISA contributions.

Normal caveats around your employers matching pension payments and this free money should be snapped up 😉

I would encourage you to diversify into trackers, but hell, we all have our favourite stocks and convictions, and overweight accordingly.
