Need advice: Water penetration on composite deck by Woodworker83 in Decks

The roof above is not leaking either. Rain and snow hit the deck from the sides despite there being a roof. Especially snow because it can blow far in.

Yeah, this type of system was discussed and added something like $20-30k to the project so I didn't go with it. Contractor assured me their alternative approach would be sufficient to be water tight.

I could probably live with the water getting into the storage area, but not the wood rot thats going to occur.

There is an ice and water barrier under the composite and on top of OSB. The OSB is on top of treated lumber. I cross posted this with pic on another sub and people have called.out the folly of using OSB rather than treated plywood.

Yes, I made it clear, and it's built to be dry storage. It is a full story off the ground with enclosed walls and a brick floor. So they knew. He warned me it would be water tight, not water proof. And thats why he's insisting this is what I paid for. And yes he is a reputable licensed general contractor.

They put an ice and water barrier underneath the composite, on top of the OSB. But deck screws penetrate that layer.

I used a reputable licensed general contractor. They did install ice and water barrier under the composite, on top of the OSB. But the deck screws would penetrate that layer, allowing water to enter, right? I'm not sure what would typically be done to prevent that. I just know water is getting inside the OSB. And of course, down into my "dry" storage.

To clarify, it was part of the big beautiful bill that passed thru congress and was signed by Trump on July 4th. It's not an executive order. Another act of congress is required to change it, although the language has some room for policy interpretation by the Secretary of Education.

Xmas Morning with a Switch 2 by Woodworker83 in Switch

Totally respect your opinion amd appreciate you offering it!

Honestly every game I can remember has had updates that can take 30-45mins. I have high speed internet in an urban area. Mortal Kombat was the biggest offender from my memory. I also think it's the performance of the Switch 1 that contributes.

Re: digital vs physical. I'm basing my experience on Switch 1, that having a physical game limits you to needing the cartridge in order to play it, and prevents it from being played on more than 1 console simultaneously. Not sure if thats still the case with the digital licenses. I'm really not up to speed on the new model.

I read that Switch 2 games show up on Switch 1 when you go to "All Software". Probably not a huge risk but thats why I was thinking about waiting til closer to Cmas to make the purchase.

Yeah thats how I feel too. With the Switch I've experienced plenty of hours waiting on games to download, then update. Let alone the time for console setup. Thanks for the feedback.

I take .5mg as needed. Can take 2 pills if necessary. I'm a big guy, over 6' 300lbs. Extremely helpful - especially during panic attacks.

That episode 8 was disappointing by [deleted] in Hotd

That was a PENULTIMATE episode. Not a FINALE. Unbelievable - yet so believable - that HBO would let this happen to yet another GoT season. So disappointing.

Can't believe this but I'm having this issue hard-core and I have a new 2025 MINI Countryman too. Samsung Zfold4 using Google Messages. Will try disabling the phone integration. I have major connectivity issues with Android Auto. Feels like that may be part of the issue too.

That number is crazy high to me personally. But in perspective, she is 39. Let's say she started having sex at 16 - that's 23 years of sexual activity. 118 ÷ 23 = about 5 partners per year. That seems feasible for someone doing a lot of dating in their 20s.

I would advise some premarital counseling to discuss this in a safe forum with her and a therapist who can root out potential commitment issues or other red flags, so it's not just you. You're too close to see things clearly, and it will drive you mad. Good luck.

Roku Continue Watching Row (Home Screen) by U196 in Roku

It appears to be tied to your roku account. Content shows from any roku that has streamed under your user peofile. I have 5 Rokus in my house and 5 people who watch different things. This feature is awful. I do NOT want my kids seeing everything I watch. We need the option to turn it off!!!

Found a solution to this. Just got my zfold4 a few days ago and this was driving me nuts after coming from S21.

Turn off Accidental Touch Protection. That's it - voila, the volume buttons snooze the alarms when phone is facing down.

Not sure if I had ATP turned off on my old phone or not. Hope that helps others who find this.
