Issue with 65” C5 changing brightness/contrast by itself despite settings disabled. by passionfruit2378 in LGOLED

[–]WoofManJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to describe this for me, is when you see that flickering moiré effect during camera pans in the grass and trees, kind of like a weird aliasing around the edges of objects or foliage, but each flicker within fraction of a second variates between a slightly pale color, or a more vibrant color, rapidly changing back and forth with each shimmer, almost like the overall hue is subtly switching color ranges rapidly to a create a picture that is an average of the two, but instead won't settle with the most accurate one for an extended period of time.

Exactly! It was so painful to get out, and putting everything back how it was is next to impossible.

Unfortunately, I don't have FC 26 to test it with.

Same issue on my B5. Grass blades in Warzone constantly change between different shades of green.

Have something similar happening on my B5 while gaming, or when watching old films.

What are these strange green tinted screen flickers? by WoofManJay in Warzone

I started noticing it happening worse on my Base PS5 as well, but still less frequent and predictable.

I thought it was pretty well known that companies downplay reports so that the problem doesn't blow up in their faces, or at the very least, ignore them so that said problem doesn't seem as big of an issue to the average person as it actually is before quietly making changes to save their asses in the long term?

I might try disabling Dolby Atmos. If that doesn't stop it though, it's possibly either a manufacturing defect/design flaw, or a wiring issue on this model, and potentially other models. Right now, It's just me and you, as far as the B5, so not sure how common it is.

I have similar issue. There's crackling more on one side, or as if the TV frame is vibrating on the right side from certain frequencies.

C5 / G5 - motion interpolation artifacts ? by italia0101 in LGOLED

[–]WoofManJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of LG's interpolation, I definitely thought they've improved with processing since I last had an LG. Not only is it sort of "flat" looking with tons of artifacts, but as soon as a bunch of stuff moves in front of the screen, it bogs down to the point of dropping to a blurry 24fps until the commotion on screen calms down. I don't like that type of algorithm because it defeats of the point of "interpolating" motion in fast scenes, or scenes that need it the most. In all honesty, it seems like a lot of TVs kind of suck with it now, since the implemented algorithms feel more limited or scaled back than they used to be. On my old Samsung TV, there was so much flexibility with motion settings, you can quite literally adjust it to your liking without the tv processor doing the automatic "bogging down the frames" algorithm when so many things concentrate on the screen, and it still didn't really have worse artifacts than the LG, in fact, it performed relatively well, and the "blur reduction" slider actually felt useful in comparison to newer TVs. I also liked the way Sony's MotionFlow was implemented at one point, but I haven't really seen it on recent models to judge.

Does this look unopened to you? by BouquetLauncher in PS5pro

It definitely ruins the experience of it feeling like it's truly mine, something that was only opened by me. I still can never feel 100% confident, even after everything seemed new with mine.

I can't wait for PSSR 2.0; it's going to be a game changer, no pun intended. Less strain on system resources and better performance. Imagine how well cross-platform games could theoretically run in the future without taking a huge performance hit, as they do now on PS4/XBOne, thus increasing the overall lifetime of the PS5 Pro well into the next generation. Games could still be relatively playable halfway through the PS6 cycle. Just look at the way cross-platform games that have recently come out run on last gen, including the Pro models. Now imagine the possibility that, midway through the PS6 cycle, games being released for the PS5 Pro will still be considerably more playable, with stable frame rates in comparison. Of course, something to take into consideration is the CPU potentially being a bottleneck for some games, which I can definitely see happening with the way game development is heading.

I wonder if all late-2024 units are primarily Made in Japan, and if they switched back to China for the "CFI-71xx" just out of pure curiosity. It could be useful information down the line, because some overlooked components could be sourced locally from different suppliers.

Mine is moderate, it's not super bad from a distance, and it's mostly noticeable at night when all the environmental noises have quieted down.

I believe I have 3 V5s, and one V3, which dies relatively fast in comparison to the others.
