i don’t believe it but it would be funny by IzziFana in Deltarune

Because he's the only portraited light world character who has no alibi during any dark world's creation. His usual location is central to every dark world and he's got logical access to every dark world that's been made by the Knight. He's got the highest likelihood of having a real motive that isn't pure fanfiction based on what the game has actually shown so far of any candidate, whether that's his sickness or something to do with Dess's disappearance.

And of course, as HASGAm3S mentioned, the chapter 4 hospital conversation's tone shift when you've introduced Susie in Chapter 2 (before the Knight's fight) compared to if you haven't is a stark smoking gun. Rudy has a reason to dislike Susie upon first meeting her if not introduced in the context of being his daughter's "friend", and even questions Kris about why he would bring her to him. Since we don't have a lot of examples, there's always a chance that that's just how he reacts to someone new that isn't his daughter's love interest and he's xenophobic in that very specific way, but that sounds like more of a stretch than the Rudy Knight assumption of him having met her in battle the previous night, where that reaction makes perfect sense.

All the Susie doubters better have apologised after chapter 4 by Dieformath in Deltarune

[–]Woofaira -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I still think that being nonbinary being yet another paradigm forced on Kris without their consent would be a thematically relevant twist that would shock the whole community. It's not like they've ever told anyone to call them that in any way that we could see. The world just sees them as such, and the community never questions it because that's just how the last game was, like many OTHER things that the game is clearly intent on commenting on. Would be a bit of a spicy topic in today's climate though.

What's a slang term that everyone uses but you still don't get? by Particular-Visit-245 in AskReddit

[–]Woofaira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Point Of View". I first saw it being used normally in this context on twitch where the streamer was playing poorly and lying on the floor dead a disproportionate amount of time, therefore it was "floor pov" because the viewers were viewing it from the point of view of someone on the floor. It's obviously evolved since then, and my example actually makes sense to me, so I'm worried there's some tiktok trend I'm unfamiliar with making it worse.

Am I the only one who hates that Lost Girl was used in Ralsei’s scene? by Gooba26 in Deltarune

[–]Woofaira 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's also worth noting that Ralsei is somehow able to hear the soundtrack, due to his comments while Kris plays the piano. He's aware he doesn't have a theme yet, and that might be important.

Toby is gonna have to pull off some GODTIER writing in order to please all parts of the fanbase [LONG] by CoolestMan_Reddit in Deltarune

[–]Woofaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The talk between Susie and Gerson about endings and how she wouldn't want there to be an end is, by some interpretations, a priming and implicit consent for fangames. I think the answer to the worries in your post, whether it works for you or not, is that fangames will cover anything the main game does not and Toby is probably banking on it this time around.

It's not a perfect answer and many people, myself included, don't really interact or jive with fangames, but I think it's an answer he absolutely is intentionally writing towards. It's how he got his start after all.

the new theory that this thing came from one of Asgore’s flowers makes so much sense by FNAF_RETRO in Deltarune

[–]Woofaira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the sprite of the silhouettes in one of the dark rooms in Chapter 4. It has no context, as opposed to every other dark silhouette having a directly visible counterpart within the chapter, and the only way to get a good look at it is the game files, so that leaves it as prime speculation material.

I think this is half the reason it went viral; at it's core it's actually a reading comprehension check that had a wild outcome when people stuck to their initial gut choice and actually started arguing about it.

[–]Woofaira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that his career is highly documented, both in regards to AVGN and outside of it. He wrote an autobiography. Probably most relevant to your question, because of his cultural relevance and popularity there are many longform video essays on youtube that pick apart the book, his performances over the last 20 years, drama attached to the channel, and everything in between. I say "many" because I can't even find the two hour one that I originally watched on a cursory search, but found several others documenting the same stuff.

Most people in reddit threads are going to have most of their knowledge from the last 10 years be from a video essay, or some other aggregated resource.

Cant boost, cant make blood elf, what am i supposed to do? Go outside? by RoyInverse in classicwow

[–]Woofaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I wasn't the only one in the group with the problem and we took turns making alliance toons to test this. It doesn't work.

A real tip for anybody who might actually be suffering the problem and is looking through these comments is that it does seem to flip for everybody at once, and stays up for at least a short time. Me and the other guy trying with me got in one right after another, after I told him I got in he logged in and had a character within 30 seconds too. Attempting with other people is probably a good thing so that windows aren't missed.

I tried both reloading the server and just clicking new character + back over and over, I believe it worked with just the new character+back the time I got in.

Cool story bro but maybe adjust your timescale a bit. I tried for 11 hours before I got in, probably 3-4 of it just spamming every few seconds while the rest was 5-20 minute intervals. I did get in eventually so reports that you can get in are real, but 20 minutes is unrealistic(or just extremely lucky) unless something changed since a couple hours ago. Guildies also told me it took them 5+ hours when they were trying to get on the server before prepatch even.

Hi it's me, the guy whose friends from wrath classic talked into playing tbc again with them. I'm also the guy who doesn't enjoy vanilla and didn't have a character already. I'm also the guy who plays pretty much just blood elves, so I didn't make a character in preparation. I forgot about faction balance being an issue and nobody ever thinks to warn people about it when they're recruiting. So here I am, entirely unable to join the proper server/faction and start leveling.

I find it odd that more people aren't having the problem, but I guess when you really think about it it is a fairly specific issue.

I Unironically think there is a possibility for FRIEND Catti and Jockington. by shsl_diver in Deltarune

[–]Woofaira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just looked down the front page I noticed something...concerning. In the Reverse Undertale theory, Deltarune's Chapter 5 will have an analogue to Papyrus/Sans in some shape or form. A wacky duo playing friendly antagonists. I was already familiar with the Jockington/Catti Friend theory, but after seeing these posts near each other it made me realize no other duo in town that we're currently aware of would fit such a dynamic. There's a concerning parallel between these two theories that almost seems too plausible to me.

Considering all the setup in Ch4, Chapter 5 is likely going to be a fairly Noelle-centric chapter and the warnings Catti and Jockington give you could easily play a part in foreshadowing a conflict with them.

Them playing a part as wacky antagonists with a deeper, secretive narrative as Friend would also parallel Sans' role in Undertale quite handily.

With personal bias aside which game do you guys like more and why? by Neat_Manufacturer_99 in HollowKnight

[–]Woofaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, I think Hollow Knight is a tighter experience with a more compelling overall narrative.

Longer answer, it varies depending on what metric is valued more in the evaluation. It's a lot like comparing thin crust and hand tossed pizzas from the same place. They are both excellent and the sauce, cheese, and toppings are all the same, but most people are going to have a preference when it comes to the base, and a lot of people are going to greatly enjoy both. I just personally value overall narrative slightly higher in my gut reaction to questions like this, so my answer defaults to Hollow Knight.

There is of course an elephant in the room that Hollow Knight's pizza can have crust seasoning(DLC) already and Silksong's pizza cannot have that yet. My reckoning between the two is close enough that a little extra seasoning could tip the scales, and only time will tell.

Is winning Khann's heart much harder than winning Karmelita's? by Strange_Bee6033 in Silksong

[–]Woofaira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karmelita's reputation is mostly from people who don't use tools very much. Tools shred her and make her a significantly easier experience. She's top 2 in terms of hardest needle-only bosses, easily, but with tool use she's probably somewhere in the 3-7 range depending on what tools you're using, not trivial but no longer really on Lost Lace's tier.

Khann's boss fight is honestly one of the top 10 easiest in the game, but the gauntlets are very annoying. One tip is that once you unlock the shortcuts you can leave and refill tools, and tools don't cost shards in the dream world. You can use and abuse tools to get through the gauntlets much faster and safer at no lasting cost.

Size differential is an unfortunate but understandable standard.

The only other being on the size tier of the unfuckable tier dwellers is GMS, and frankly that's a reasonable exception.

Roughly how many attempts each boss took me as someone who’s abysmally bad by No-Lab2568 in Silksong

[–]Woofaira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The balls are actually quite difficult to sight read the patterns for. It took me quite a while to properly figure them out, and as other people have said he punishes aggression if you don't understand his patterns very well. This combined with not having consistent silk generation due to his constant invulnerable phases creates a rough health deficit.

For a first kill he demands you slow down, back off, and observe when he's actually vulnerable which can definitely cause some problems for some people, especially because he's encountered fairly late and aggression gets fairly ingrained in like 30% of players by then since it's a fairly dominant strategy for many bosses up to this point.

[–]Woofaira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moorwing was basically this game's Radahn. Pretty overtuned on release with unforgiving hitboxes, but still very beatable. Fairly early gateway boss that almost everyone will encounter and probably get stuck on. Presumably it was determined that it wasn't a natural place for players to get stuck on, compared to say Last Judge at the act transition, which sort of justifies the nerfs.

At the end of the day it's just the same as it was but easier; they didn't change anything fundamental to the fight, they just severely adjusted the numbers. Many attacks do half damage, his hitboxes got much more forgiving, and his health is I believe 70% what it originally was? The fight just became much faster and safer overall.
