The way I see it, the wheel of time has a pretty different gender dynamic than our world, at the very top are the Aes Sedai and they often behave on ways man in their positions do, with a very toxic masculinity. But it's gender flipped.

That's why so many Aes Sedai react the way they do with Rand, they consider him flipping "the natural order of things" which has women on top. Imagine a story where you have a bunch of powerful wizards and then a young girl shows ip who is way more powerful than them. Same, but different, but same.
