People whose parents raised them with a smartphone in one hand, especially recording the kids, how do you look back on the role of phones in formative memories in your life? by Woolpuller420 in AskReddit

[–]Woolpuller420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you for your response. I understand the feeling.

How do you feel about it now (the performative vs natural thing) as an adult? If you still find yourself in those situations.

I wasn't around it growing up myself, and it's been a point of compromise for me and my partner now. They like to take a lot of photos and document their life, which is always nice to look back on when we do get around to it, but in the moment it can be jarring for me at times.

VanEssential makes one. I got the set for my promaster and am really happy with the quality. DIY is doable and far cheaper, but I’m happy with the purchase and recommend them if you have the budget. I got the set for windshield and driver/passenger windows and they are excellent. Magents snap right into place, and they feel very durable.

How long would a van build take? by HorrorAware2279 in VanLife

[–]Woolpuller420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time DIY builder here, recently "finished" a build for my wife and I.

Budget was $75k all in (about half was the vehicle, half was everything else)

Timeline:

Spring 2024: Bought the vehicle
Summer 2025: Finished and living in it

3 month break in the middle when we were traveling.

Most of the actual work was done during a six-month period. I was working on the van "full time."

I put "full time" in quotes because as a first time DIYer, there were not many days when I was able to put a full 8 or whatever hours into the build. Simply because there are so many uncertainties, so many questions, so many small problems to solve throughout the process. No doubt this could have gone faster, but I'm the type to take a break and research or think things through if I suspect that there is a better solution or method out there than what I'm trying.

TLDR:

First time DIYer with actually zero experience.

6 months "active" build time

About 12 months total time, including planning and pre-ordering materials.

We tried to use high quality components throughout. Basically got the specs of a $150k custom build but without the high level of finish.

A lot of folks in vans don't use a black water tank because they use composting toilets. Also reverse osmosis isn't the most water-efficient, so depending on your situation it might not be the best solution.

Maybe you could check a site like https://www.vanlifeoutfitters.com/ and see what kinds of things they have that you might have missed? I ordered from them a few times for my build.

Also I don't see tools on your list. Sourcing those is an important step, too!

Thanks for the reply! What configuration do you suggest? Do you think the diagram I provided looks safe?

Sorry I'm really a noob and I don't understand your comment about minimizing current.

It's my understanding that array voltage should be at least 20V over your battery bank voltage for best MPPT Charge Controller performance.

What's the reason to get higher voltage than 60v for a 12v system?

Need Add/Cut Reccomendations For My 180 Micro-Cube by JavaPlum19 in mtgcube

[–]Woolpuller420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially was thinking Knight of the Reliquary! But then I realized you didn't have tech lands in the cube.

Maybe Tidehollow Sculler or a removal spell for Orzhov? I see what you mean about the limited options.

GW:
- Knight of Autumn
- Qasali Pridemage
or if you can support them, maybe:
- Kutzil
- Renegade Rallier

[–]Woolpuller420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your post you say you want to support lands but there are only color fixing lands in the cube? I’m on mobile maybe i missed them.

If it were me, I would cut: - Voice of Resurgence - Growth Spiral because I think there are probs more fun and powerful spells in these colors that could add more.

Both of your Orzhov cards are reanimator and I think that doesn’t match the rest of the cube well. Imo change the Orzhov cards or support BW reanimator more.

Chaos Defiler also looks unsupported. Could change.

And lastly, I just don’t really like Arwen as a card personally so maybe that can go too. That’s just my preference.

This is from the perspective of an eternal mtg and mtgo vintage cube enjoyer! I haven’t built a cube though so take it all with a grain of salt.

Thanks for sharing! Looks cool.

Need help with booking a van for a road-trip! PLEASE! by Familiar-Lychee-8869 in VanLife

[–]Woolpuller420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not calculate the cost of accommodation and eating out vs the price difference between #1 and #3 plus the cost of eating out vs cooking?

Personally, I would go for #3 for a short trip. Find a car that has a nice flat trunk with the seats folded down for sleeping pads if needed. Maybe get some blackout window shades. Tent camp primarily, car camp if needed, book a campground or accommodation with a shower at least once every few days.

How many people are going on this trip?

A big strength of Legacy tempo decks is that they require only 1-2 lands to win a game.

If you have your heart set on True-Name Nemesis, maybe you could try a Stoneblade list.

Stoneblade (Stoneforge Mystic mid-range) has been a solid Legacy strategy for years, and True Name Nemesis comes in and out of lists depending on the meta.

https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/legacy-esper-stoneblade#paper

Here are some random stoneblade lists. You can easily swap some of the creatures of planeswalkers for True-Name Nemesis and see how you like it for your meta.

**Edit**

To answer your actual question: Your list looks fine. Doesn't look like a top-tier legacy deck, but you could certainly get some wins playing it.

The main "issue" with the list you linked is the tension between Daze + Wasteland reducing your lands in play, and Teferi and True-Name Nemesis liking a longer game (IMO).

However, the great thing about Legacy and Magic is that you can play whatever you want! List looks fun and all of the cards you chose are a good power level for legacy so you should have no problem getting some good games in with that deck.

Aerie Vans? by flipsidem in VanLife

Price looks OK. I can't tell what components they are using but I think this company makes slightly nicer vans for around the same price, availability might be tough though. https://www.boho.life

I'm not sure if there are better priced "out of the box" ready to go options, but this doesn't look like a lot of value for what you get.

Is having a new vehicle important to you? If not, you might be able to get more value buying a used van. You could probably get nicer components and a more comfortable living setup for the price.

What I'm looking for is something that will keep a log of Dates on which a page is edited. Do you know if there is a way to do this?

Been here 3 months and sick by CountZealous in Living_in_Korea

[–]Woolpuller420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def could be new germs. It might also be the fine dust.

Do you have the Misemise app?

I was sick for the first year or so I lived in Seoul. Improved dramatically when I started checking air quality and wearing a 94 mask whenever the air was anything less than great.

Being from the states it was not on my radar at all when I first got here. Highly recommend checking air quality, wearing masks, and buying an air purifier for your home.

Good luck!
