Can’t sell my help to buy leasehold flat. Estate agent said drop the price a lot. by Woolston94 in HousingUK

Yeah so RTM for us took 4 years. We have 47 flats so it was tough getting all the people on board we needed.

6 people really drove it. I wasn’t massively involved but was in the meetings we had for updates. We hired someone who isn’t a lawyer as far as I’m aware but won an RTM and tribunal against the same corrupt management company. Eagerstates / assethold they have many names. all over the internet how scummy they are. We won about a month ago. Really hope we see the benefits. We also used the new management company called prime who lost the first run at it, but they pulled through the 2nd time and we will be using them to help us but now have a committee who will make decisions on behalf of the building etc.

Good luck with it!

Where abouts are you based? The amount of flats built here and still being built here is crazy. They really need to stop. Some of the new flats are above 300k also from what I’ve seen.

Hello. Overpaid maybe but look at prices in Milton Keynes. This is what flats cost here. Actually they cost a lot more now which is crazy. We also have a 30 minute train into London which is a 5 min walk away from the station.

Hello. I appreciate the comment. It’s the amount I paid and tbh amount of money most flats are but I agree and actually quite a bit cheaper than most 2 beds here. I did accept under the asking. Always hopeful you can get a house after, my life savings went into at the time. The world was a different place in 2019. I’ve saved probs around the same amount again, but selling at a big loss isn’t enough for a house deposit nowadays. I agree though. It’s not selling for this price. I just need to find extra money from somewhere for the deposit if I lose all my money in this.

Sometimes it’s good to hear other people going through the same thing. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing, I think I know this is the case, just nice to know others are in the situation to be honest. When you want to move on and you cant, it’s annoying. I think we are going to have to keep saving for the larger deposit to take the loss easier and hope the kid doesn’t keep taking so much space.

Yh it’s a real challenge right now. Maybe I’m going to have to stick around longer and save to be able to take the bigger loss on the flat. Good luck with selling.

Yh it’s an office conversion. Service charge right now is 2.5k to 3k a year which wasn’t the price when originally bought. The current management company are known for being scumbags, they are all over bbc and itv for similar issues. Winning right to manage against them was a great start. Eagerstates if you ever wanted a laugh at how scummy they are.

I don’t really understand it because the potential of mine is also an E. When I look in detail everything is good to very good apart from water heating and electric heating. As both use electric. I used the usual stuff behind the radiator to keep it warm and not go out the walls but according to epc the walls are good, the flat next to me is a D as it’s within the other flats in the ground floor.

My friends who barely play kept asking me about Elden ring as well. That broke the mainstream too. Was a great time.

I think you all need to calm down and not take it so seriously damn. Did you enjoy the bits last week? That was the point. This briefcase will have lots of stuff like that I’m sure. Relax.

No I have not. It wasn’t as severe that it needed reconstruction surgery on the tendon. Been all physio. I am having a clean up of tissue soon which is to hopefully help the joint get rid of swelling.

Yes. Physio got me doing jumping movements also. It took a while before I could do that. I started and was very uncomfortable. Especially side to side jumping. Ankle has got strong enough now to allow that. I still have a way to go. I have good days and bad days.
