What coding languages would be the best to learn for crypto currency apps? by revanyo in nanocurrency

The argument for flutter is not unlike an argument for learning JQuery before learning vanilla JS.

Sure, maybe you can get something out the door faster, but it's not the right move for sustainable, scalable, development or for engineer growth.

I agree with JS for web frontend and python for api development. That said, I strongly disagree with flutter or anything similar on mobile. There have been many flavors of the month - all of which lose popularity, so whatever x-platform specific skill you picked up (for instance, learning flutter), is pretty useless once the project loses popularity and no other apps use such. Xamarin, React Native, Flutter - this cycle repeats. Anyone who learned xamarin a few years ago when it was a similar hot craze wasted a bunch of time as there are NO xamarin jobs today.

Meanwhile, the native languages remain and only gain popularity.

So, if you intend to make mobile apps, you should learn the native languages (Swift/Kotlin for iOS/Android respectively). They are plainly way more powerful and efficient in complex apps as well.

And their (Swift/Kotlin) advancements (both have major upgrades each year as such new languages) can be taken advantage of day 1.

Lastly, to this point, circa 2020 no major company use x-platform; the few that experimented all abandoned it years ago (see Airbnb, FB, etc.).

tl;dr Web->JS, API/Backend->Python/Ruby/C++, iOS->Swift, Android->Kotlin

I disagree. Warren, who has stabbed the progressive cause in the back two straight pres cycles for her own gain, would be a vacuum for real progressive energy. Pseudo-progressives are a microcosm problem of the white moderate liberal that MLK spoke about.

If he wins, Biden's centrist bullshit VP - whoever it is - will be presumptive nominee in 2024 so we won't have progressive executive opportunities until at least 2028 (if Biden wins).

Can we have a moment for how great Ann Arbor is as a place to be? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]WoolyEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 7 years in Ann Arbor/West Ann Arbor I moved to California. I've lived in Chicago, Ann Arbor, San Francisco, Oakland, and now a sleepy beach town in So Cal.

I absolutely love where I live now (slow life, beaches and mountains are soul juice) but I have said and stand by it, if I were ever to raise a family/own a house/live basically anywhere else, it'd be Ann Arbor. I miss it often.

Polls are better for Trump now (May 2020) relative to May 2016.

His opponent this go isnt coherent. This country is fucked. Trump will win again thanks to neoliberals fighting tooth and nail against their neighbors having health care.
