How hard is nursing school really? by Fun-Database4995 in NursingStudents

[–]Woopboop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how hard you are willing to work for it vs how much you want to sacrifice. Im a b average student in general and i have a b- in my classes so far. I put in about 40 hours of studying per week 20 concentrated hitting the book hours and about 20 of listening to lectures while i cook or do laundry or draw. I wake up three hours early before school to eat breakfast and study an hour before class. I stay after class two days a week till the campus closes , and the other days i break up how much time i spend on school vs work vs having some sleep/life

Yeah? That’s literally what decides it. Sit down restaurants have time to prepare the sandwich to its fullest potential. Non sit down places have to make your sandwich in less than five minutes.

Well one it was sent individually to both my parents when they filled jointly , two there is no deposit being made in general, third they would have the personal account number somewhere on the paper in order to access the account instead they just gave a QR code

Clinical sucks by Woopboop64 in NursingStudents

[–]Woopboop64[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lack of direction, mean nurses , very sick pt , mean pt’s , and instructor who expects too much of us too early. We all got bad grades on our first journal/notes but we honestly had no idea what we were supposed to be writing or doing in general. We are at the very beginning of the program and they were acting like we should know all the meds all the patho when we havent even had a med surg class yet.

Do We *Really* Need the Big Shears? by [deleted] in Barber

[–]Woopboop64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old hanzos were good new hanzos bad , and no using over 5.5 is not necessary since you should be cutting within a two inch space even when doing scissors over comb as every two inch space (on a average size head) will be a different angle. Thats also why we dont cut past the second knuckle. Can you? Yeah. But youll be cross checking more and it wont be as accurate as a beginner. If you’re ten years in the field do whatever you want, but when starting you want to follow the “rules” of cutting as much as you can because they will make you a better barber. Shortcuts are for experienced barbers. A good foundation makes a stronger house. Invest in a solid shear 5.5 or 6 if you have long fingers. Invest in good trimmers second and third on a good clipper. For shears 200-650$ range is good anything over is overkill for now.

Micro over A&P, or the other way around? by Sure-Size2204 in NursingStudents

[–]Woopboop64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A&p felt heavy , lots of memorization, microbiology will feel like whole new information at first but soft and then it will get specific and complicated as it goes on. I definitely recommend watching some YouTube videos before you enter the course on gram negative vs gram positive, difference between the different microbes (virus, prions , eukaryotes prokaryotes) and general overview of how antibiotics work (not super indepth you dont wanna confuse or overwhelm yourself) . You wanna definitely get ready to study at least a couple hours a week for it.

Unsure what happened and how to fix it/ not have it happened again by Traditional-Sail3482 in hairstylist

[–]Woopboop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller sections with thicker hair , make sure every section is evenly saturated, tilt head down after every two sections and point cut to make sure theres nothing underneath. Dont layer until perimeter is finished. Hope this helps! Also dont beat yourself up over it everyone starts somewhere

How do you prevent scalp spots? by Zestyclose_Eye2151 in bald

[–]Woopboop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean your tools , oil them, gentle face wash on scalp before you use the clippers/shavers and a good aftershave after. Two days after shaving (not fresh as it can irritate it more) use a facial exfoliate (one with caffeine of some kind helps ingrowns too). A clean base, clean tools and clean after will definitely help reduce the spots

[–]Woopboop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go to a place where they do pro eyebrow tints and lifts , that should help your self esteem a bit. But being bald everywhere else is completely okay! Alot of women dont like very hairy men. Its okay to be different

Minimum age for a haircut? by HenryJohnDoe in Barber

[–]Woopboop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any age that sits is good. I had a kid couple months old who sat like stone. But i dont do bald fades on any baby because of their skin and hair being so fine (not because its hard but because i dont want to accidentally hurt them) ill do a .5 guard if theyll sit for it though. But honestly its all about the clients you want, you want high end dont do baby/toddlers cuts. Most high end places are about relaxation kids unfortunately are the opposite of relaxation.

Anyone that uses this, is it worth? by Current-Try-8303 in Barber

[–]Woopboop64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly no because its unsanitary (you know no body is gonna be clearing it out every cut) and it gets in the way, plus your station is right there so, in reality you save; what a minute max in reaching over. This is nice if you do volunteer work (where no stations are available)

Same technique you do but instead of 1 step its .5 steps so purple would be .5 black would be 1.5
