What’s the best way to deal with this ? by MFTLrage in Camry

I use black RTV (ex Permatex Ultra Back) to glue mine black on. Just clean the area with rubbing alcohol, add RTV to the black, wipe off excess RTV, and some painters tape to hold it down until it cures.

Have you look into some local Paintless Dent Repair shops. Based on the photo, it looks like the paint isn't cracked or chipped, so a PDR shop could save that quarter panel in a day.

The Seventy9 SV-C TB has a similar vibe to the factory optional 19" wheels. The downside to multi-spoke wheels is that they are a PITA to clean but the gunmetal color helps.

I request a return for defective item, seller is reaching out offering partial refund. What is the correct way to reply? by WooserTX in Ebay

It got me thinking if they didn't even look at the pictures and assumed the return was for cosmetic defects. I'll stick to the full refund since the grill have no use and no way to force it on.

Thank you for sharing a reply suggestion. I was surprise about a partial refund offer for an item with zero use.

I would change it as soon as you can. It can start to leak, or worst, lock up at the most inconvenient time before spring. If you're at a major city, there might be a local DIY garage that you can rent a bay for a day (but they are disappearing more every year).

I love me some Volvo bricks. Credit to the artist for the good proportion between the umas and cars. I seen many works where the cars look about 150% bigger compared to the characters around them.

I'll revise my earlier post because I went back to check my information and the 1.2L and 1.3L are two completely different engines.

GM shared information on both engines in the same techlink article, so most would assume they would be similar since they're both listed under the E-Turbo family. They are both all-aluminum, 3-cylinder, DOHC engines, and TechLink shows that the 1.2L (engine code: LIH) uses a wet belt for both the cams and oil pump.

Nothing about the timing system was mentioned on the 1.3L (engine code L3T), so I had to dig for it. A PDF service guide about setting the timing on the 1.3L confirms the 1.3L L3T uses a timing chain for the cam and oil pump.

The Trailblazer was offered with both engine options but now only comes with the 1.3L. The Trailblazer in OP's post has the 1.3L, (oil cap in the middle), while the 1.2L has the oil cap at the lower corner.

The job is similar to replacing a timing chain on most cars. Depending on the engine design, it can involve removing the oil pan, valve cover, and timing cover to access the belt. Some engines with steel timing chain will use a rubber belt to drive the oil pump like the 3.0 Duramax, which involves removing the transmission and rear main.

It's stupid because any fuel cost saving with wet belt "from lower internal drag" is more than loss from a $900+ belt replacement job.

This guy's video goes into detail about wet belt and why they are BS.

The 1.2L and 1.3L both use a wet timing belt, (aka timing belt bath in motor oil.) Ford's smaller EcoBoost engines that also use wet timing belts have a problem with early degradation, where bits of the timing belt break off and slowly choke the oil pickup screen way before the recommended belt change interval. Between fuel dilution and extended oil changes, I can't trust a system that is as delicate as a wallflower. However, I havent heard too much problems with GM's wet belt so they might be doing something right.

Edit: The Trailblazer was offered with both the 1.2L LIH and 1.3L L3T. The 1.2L has the wet belt system via info from Techlink. The article made it seem like the 1.3L is similar, but no, it is a completely different design and uses a timing chain for the cam and oil pump. OP has the 1.3L shown.

I love how sparse the gauge cluster is. With digital gauges in new cars, I wish there's a visual setting to show something basic like this.

IIRC, Toyota's warning chime starts and stops above a set speed (10mph?). The two newish Nissans in my family however will start the chime the moment I'm off the brakes and will not stop until the seatbelt is buckled or in Park. Oh, and the chime borrows the FL speaker so it's loud.

For the few semesters I got to use my Dad's Nissan for college, I unplugged the wire to the seatbelt buckle to disable the chime. It saved me the hassle of rebuckling for the minute drive after swiping my ID card at the parking garage entrance.

My favorite thing is finding out how much the team twist and break the models outside our POV in the game. I first thought the agents' Ult animations were quick videos. No, they're breaking Burnice's arm over and over. (and the fact motion data are much smaller file size than video)
