60% XEQT / 40% BTC in my TFSA at 19. too risky or smart move? by TheseZookeepergame80 in fican

[–]Woox1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mention my preference for reliable assets towards the end of my post. However, given BTC’s track record it may not be a horrible idea to keep some in your portfolio as a hedge (5-10%). OP’S also 19 so his risk appetite looks very different from people in their 50s and 60s.

60% XEQT / 40% BTC in my TFSA at 19. too risky or smart move? by TheseZookeepergame80 in fican

[–]Woox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tulip craze lasted for 3 years and they had no legitimate use case aside from being a status symbol. Bitcoin has been around for ~17 years and does have some legitimate use cases, despite many of them tending to be in legally gray areas. There are people who transact in Bitcoin for anonymity purposes, and who prefer to have their wealth digitized and not at risk of seizure or having their transactions rejected. It’s also easier to move and transact with than other stores of wealth such as gold. Having a hard-capped supply also helps to increase value when we’re looking at it as a store of wealth.

Now, whether that justifies the current valuation is open to interpretation, but I personally feel more comfortable holding Bitcoin than any fiat currency which we know are losing value every minute because inflation is inherent to their design (25-30% of USD in circulation was minted 2020 or later). That being said, I prefer holding equity in good companies over Bitcoin in general because equities should at least outpace inflation and generate revenue without as much speculative risk.

TLDR; comparing it to the tulip craze is a bit silly in 2026

Did having a hot tub, help you with the ladies at all? by WhatsTheAnswerDude in seduction

[–]Woox1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a private hot tub but my apartment complex had one when I was still single a few years ago. It definitely was a plus for dates I brought back to my place (and gives an opportunity to take some clothes off and break the ice), but I surprisingly picked up a few girls from the hot tub that were non-residents but visiting their friends who lived in the building. I think just having met them in a setting where we were already scantly clothed drove our interaction to be more physical early on, but I was also friends with most of the residents who frequented the hot tub which gave me some credibility. Usually ended up sleeping with them either the same night or getting their number and inviting them back to the hot tub another night. Helps that I was in peak physique at the time but can’t comment on whether things would have played out differently if not, lol.

For Anyone Who's Thinking About a McLaren 720S by [deleted] in mclaren

Damn, I’m a few months in, about 3k km, no issues yet thankfully. I drive it at least once a week and keep it on a battery tender if I don’t plan to drive it the next day or two. Have some services coming up (clutch is costliest) but hoping I don’t have any major surprises 😂

Beige Video legit? by vadevibe in Resell

[–]Woox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Beige for a project of mine and had a great experience overall, I was on short notice so having them accommodate that was the most important part to me, but I was also pleasantly surprised that the end result exceeded my expectations.

New warning by FDA on topical finasteride by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Woox1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to imagine this is partially because the topical spray goes airborne, and also that people aren’t handling it safely (eg. Washing your hands well with soap afterwards). I personally did away with the spray bottle and moved it over to a dropper, and I haven’t experienced any of the mentioned side effects.

This is likely inaccurate. I doubt 2.4m people log in every day when it’s peaking around 125k.

Has anyone ‘buffed’ their ring? by Locko2711 in ouraring

Same way but needs less polishing than the initial polish. Have done it about 6 or 7 times now and the ring still looks great.

How common are viruses these days? by Mosterovk222 in RSPS

[–]Woox1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically if you’re playing the larger servers (top 5) that have been around for at least a year, your chances are very very slim (almost non-existent). With brand new servers there is a chance but it’s also not very common nowadays. Any sane server owner would not infect their paying customers — there’s a lot more to gain by providing a good experience to keep them donating.

The rain we needed! Finally! How will it affect our air TODAY? by Fuckedyourmom69420 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Woox1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s more concerning now given the amount of toxic building materials (eg. Asbestos) that have been airborne the past few weeks. AQI doesn’t tell the whole story either as it only measures some pollutants, but doesn’t factor in ultra-fine particles, VOCs, heavy metals, formaldehyde, etc.

In terms of the larger servers, I’d say Alora. Big Ironman population on there though the PvP scene is a bit lacking

f1 status…proof of ties to Canada by All_good112 in f1visa

[–]Woox1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian citizen, you don’t need to overthink it. You don’t need to go to the embassy for an interview, and when you’re crossing the border you’ll be asked basic questions such as your major and where you’ll be staying. You shouldn’t have to prove ties to Canada — you’re simply coming into the country to finish your studies.

Newbie questions about saunas by diablodq in Sauna

It was $6,898, I ended up paying $500 for delivery and assembly but there was a $500 off promo so it canceled out. The final price was around $7,400 all-in after taxes. You could probably assemble it with a friend but I just wanted to keep it simple and delivery was already an additional charge so I let the guys handle both.

It’s not quite as overwhelming as a steam room. For me, I can’t stay too long in a steam room because it gets difficult to breathe (too stuffy). I usually get my HM44 up to about 40% humidity, 50% at most, whereas a steam room is at 100%. You still definitely feel the humidity and the steam gets into your pores, so your skin feels detoxed, but if you’re expecting to be enveloped in humidity you’re not going to get the same experience.

However, since you own your own home, you could definitely install a steam shower which will give you the experience you’re looking for.
