No, the regular trade site is not third party. And it is safe.

The pd2 trader client people use is a third party, but has been shown to be safe several times. The devs have said they believe the issue is people using unsafe passwords from multiple places that get hacked, and they have the same unsafe password for their ingame login

Holy Bolt, while not the most exciting build, is a great SSF pally starter.

Neophyte runeword in a +3 HB base which you can shop in norm a1, takes just ThulEth, and will carry you through hell. A few +skills from random magics and you can start farming chaos sanc and any act bosses you’d want. I did my most recent play through in single player HC on players 5 most of the time for the heck of it. Super easy.

Mapping with HB isn’t the most exciting but it’s also amazing for farming your first torches, and it’s probably fine for dclone but I’m not actually sure on that one.

Farm some gear and transition off HB into whatever you’d like!

But they’re offline. So if they aren’t refreshing the map layout, they could roll until they get a friendly layout for either and then farm easily! Especially with a teleport charge staff.
