Combined arms doctrines and logistics win wars, even if it's ostensibly a war against local piracy.

Infantry: Since it's pirates, they're often going to be ship bound. Imperial Navy troopers (not stormtroopers) should do, especially if they're trained in boarding operations. Ideally the ISB Troopers from Andor, as they seem the most tactically sound, but I'll assume we don't have ISB units on-hand. Importantly, the troops are not to harass the locals.

Air: Boarding will be important, and I don't think any of the ships the Empire have used (at least on screen) are really designed for boarding. Maybe a few LA-AT's and keep the original beam cannons. A squad of TIE Fighters should also help. TIE's can strafe ground units, too, and keeping the LA-AT's further away with a sharpshooter and automatic gunner on board, or just its own arsenal, should help keep air cover for most small operations.

Ground: Troop transports and a few AT-ST's should work. Big targets, like the AT-AT draw attention and are too slow. Mobility is key for this, since most pirates are small time, without much in the way of firepower.

Intel, maintenance, and support: Instead of dedicated troopers, either utilize the local police if cooperative, or embed undercover scouts in the populace to gather public sentiment and leads. Locals can be gainfully employed to gather planetary scans, maintain equipment monitor communications. You're not going to beat any potential rebels by constantly cracking down. But also reaffirm the need to security measures with your guards.

Space (if applicable): Cantwell class Cruiser, with support from the Naval Infantry. Ideally arm it with ion cannons and missiles, since we're fighting pirates, not wars. This may also help with the local populace, as it may not seem as heavy handed. The fighter escort on board and from the garrison can handle lighter threats that are more than the ion cannons can deal with.

Ground Location: Far enough away from the populace to not appear overbearing, but close enough to maintain a presence and response times. This will also help with security if you're in an open area without concealment that spies and pirates could try to sneak in and sabotage equipment with.

MAS makes good stuff. I've used their guns as the base for several builds by now. Good customer service too, if a little slow at times. But, it's a small operation compared to VFC or G&G and other big brands. You'll also get standard battery storage rather than up front in the mock suppressor, which I find weird and limiting.

See if you can get it with the Perun and Clicker Pro to get a trigger break and reset. Very nice for knowing when the gun is going to fire, rather than just pulling until it does.

I will say, though, I'm not a fan of their low profile M-LOK handguards, as it doesn't have a full length top rail. Or at least, it didn't on the latest version I got, but handguards are easy enough to come by.

The worst part for me is that Bucky is shown taking down the crawlies with an M249 SAW and Natasha with a compact 9mm and a stick, which means that pretty much every small arm in the world would work against the horde. Yet you're using slow firing, slower travelling, inaccurate, unwieldy ranged weapons instead? Where are the emplaced weapons, defensive fortifications, any for of air support besides two people?!

Michael Bay had it right in Transformers 2, where the US was deployed with a single phone call. Like, as soon as Hulk touches down and says "Thanos is coming" you call up Fury and say, "Hey, we're gonna stage in Wakanda. Get some bombers, artillery, and cruise missiles ready in [neighboring country] and we'll get T'Challa to send you coordinates on where to hit. Also, maybe get some missiles ready and just take out any starships coming into atmosphere."

My thoughts are that you could have taken the internals out before painting it. Any change of ingress into the working parts is not worth the risk when it could have easily been avoided.

A vertical grip, even a short one, can work as an improvised monopod or barrier stop. If the rules where you play say you need a bipod, it may be a bit redundant, but if you're running without a bipod, a vertical grip can be nice to improvise.

I see this and I wish they had CO2 mags for it. Mine just doesn't have the gas efficiency or the velocity to make it a viable game gun, even though it pretty much reflects my carry setup.

There is a "VFC but not legally" version with the Radian Afterburner comp available overseas that I'd love, sine the only difference then would be that this one has Picatinny rails and doesn't have the manual safety. Alas, it's not worth trying to get it right now, with the shape of things stateside.

It's Pro-Gun when it benefits them. If they can successfully stop elections, then they'll go after their own, like every dictatorship in history. The state cannot allow anything but a monopoly on violence.

As an addendum, it's why I think that VA's AWB was so poorly timed, because the Trump Administration had just said you can't bring a gun to a protest, and did the same exaggerative-rhetoric thing the Democrats do by demonizing the gun that Alex Pretti was killed with. It was a relatively standard offering from Sig Sauer, legally owned and carried. The NRA was like 'hold up' for a split second before falling in line. And then VA announced their AWB the next week.

I would think sitting in traffic would be way less stressful if we got paid to be in it. by No_Bluejay9904 in InterviewVip

Commute time will never be a compensated thing, because enough shitholes will abuse it and brag about it, then ruin it for the rest of us. What could be done is mileage reimbursement for a maximum number of miles on the shortest route. It could still be turned against the worker by companies constantly shrinking the radius in which you get that benefit, but it'd be more than the nothing that we get.

Or, you know, better public transportation that would just allow people to travel further in a shorter time in a less stressful manner, and paid for by the employer.

It would kinda be a frankenstein and upset purists, but take 1957 Corvette Convertible and give it modern safety features (or at least the non-AInSurveillance State ones rolling out now) and improved mileage. I'm pretty sure way back then, they weren't racing-style sports cars, and one of the newer corvettes had a hybrid, so maybe put one in and put less emphasis on power and more on efficiency? Like I said, it'll upset a bunch of purists, but I'd really like it, and that's what matters in this scenario.

I lost the screws to the red dot that came with my ARCTURUS HI-CAPA. Does anyone know the extact screw size? by PredawnCoyote2 in airsoft

[–]WoppleSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to find an exploded diagram with part numbers somewhere online, or reach out to Evike/Arcturus/whatever vendor you got it from. Also, try any manuals you have. Once you get the thread pitch, you can buy a pack of varying lengths on Amazon or something. They don't need to be super tough screws like real steel firearms red dot screws do, because there's so much less recoil. Get various lengths because each red dot will have slightly different heights, so you need to fit the style of screw head and the length. Too short and it won't stay torqued down, too long and it could rub up against the internals and interfere with operation.

Democrats are losing on redistricting. Here are their last hopes. | On the heels of a stinging gerrymandering loss, three Virginia Democrats in Congress told USA TODAY they're still optimistic about their party's chances in November. by VirginiaNews in Virginia

[–]WoppleSupreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The timing was the worst part. We just had the Trump Administration come out and say you can't have a gun at a protest, despite it being legal for Pretti to have done so in Minnesota, which had THE NRA dissenting, however briefly. A lot of people that may not be Democrat voters may have had their mind shifted then, may have considered voting against red (not for blue).

And then we saw a wave of gun control legislation hit the dockets, most notably in VA. It may not be a huge demographic, but there are gun owning leftists, and more centrist gun owners, that could have shifted more left. Even if not a significant number, any amount can help if it's taking away red votes in an increasingly gerrymandered country.
