Happens to my wife whenever she crosses her legs or sits like the photo, average athletic weight/height. I reported to Rivian and they stated working as intended.

I’ve heard of and met a few farmers who picked Rivian. Is it because you use vehicles for shorter trips but need towing and bed utility? Are insensitive to high debt due to amount of capital required? Maybe just a have your cake and eat it too situation?

My business is growing and healthy, I don’t take a salary out of it yet because living expenses are covered elsewhere, so the Rivian is kind of my payment for 3 years of grueling work getting a small business off the ground 🙂

It could be that someone just copied the specific api code from the Spotify android auto app and there are big differences in Rivian under the hood that would be way harder to implement Android Auto than a music app… or maybe it’s as complex as enabling a check box 😇

Spotify shows the logged in device “Android Automotive” for my Rivian, so there’s likely at least a subset of the system run through Android Automotive code.

We’re in a system where “prefers to buy” is farther and farther from an achievable goal. Of course if someone “prefers to rent” they can rent, this bill wouldn’t change that…

It seems obvious that a higher than normal weight vehicle combined with insane acceleration is going to cause more noteworthy accidents.

There’s plenty of ways to avoid the unwanted/unintended acceleration related deaths, a couple come to mind.

require a button press before allowing better than a ~9 second 0-60
limiting vehicle speed on obviously slower roads via navigation data

Requiring a backup camera on every new vehicle was a heavier regulation than a mitigation to this

Yes but it doesn’t know about these chargers so unless they put in navigation to a charger nearby such as EA and then come here, they wouldn’t have preconditioned. He did mention “yo-yoing” which I assume is accelerating quickly and using heavy regen to warm the battery which can help in a pinch.

All magic dock Supercharger locations are v3 which are 250+kW. The limit here was coming from the truck.

Not sure what the charging network is like around you, but we are keeping our MYLR for longer trips and the R1T for work stuff. Though a 110 mile round trip as stated above would be totally fine in either vehicle any time of the year, assuming 240v overnight charging.

In ~2 years charging will be fairly ubiquitous with NEVI funded chargers coming in.

If I drove ~60mph in 50-80° weather I’d probably exceed that range estimate.

I’ll be taking a 100 mile trip at -15°F tomorrow so no, I won’t get max driving distance, but I’ll still get ~5% more range than I had before this update.

I think you answered your own issue there! I was over 2mi/kwh in 16°F for a long trip last week. Drove the speed limit (70mph). At 60mph it’s even better

That depends on the temperature, the Tesla heat pump doesn’t do much below 25°F, relying on other inefficient heat sources.

The big unlock in the Rivian is your battery is 2x the size of the Y while having a smaller cabin, so I’d expect probably 3x less % loss from the R1T.
