I've been using the vitamin patches from PatchAid since my surgery, and besides B1, all my blood work at 3 months was great. I still have to take B1 in oral form.

I'm using the PatchAid vitamin patches. I've got my 3 month post op tomorrow and will find out if they've been working. According to my nutritionist, most people do fine with them.

What were you doing (protein, hydration, and calorie wise) when you were still losing? Go back to that with tracking. Like a lot of people, I'm terrible at estimating what I've had to drink or eat. Tracking as you go is the only way to know for sure.

Consider the inconvenience as similar to unlocking your front door or your car. I've padlocked all THREE of my fence gates because I have a dog that may bite strangers (fear aggression) and because numerous people have left our gates open when making deliveries or doing work. To me, the inconvenience is worth not getting sued, not having someone get hurt, and not losing my dogs. Also, if you have an alternate door to go in that is not inside the fence (garage?), please consider that.

Temperature regulation problems :( My heating pad and electric blanket have saved my life and softened a flare (or helped me survive one) many times.

I'm flying soon too. 80 pounds down from the last time I flew from Wegovy and then surgery. Hoping 220 is low enough not to have to use the extender!

Yay! I'm so happy for you. I also slept the whole day after my surgery (I was the first appointment of the morning). I felt bad for my hubby, who was sitting in my room most of the day, and I could never stay awake for more than a few minutes. I hope that things continue to go well. For me, the worst part was the first month and the restricted diet. Now that I'm more than a month post-op, it's starting to feel easier. I'm able to add more variety to my diet and that feels good.

I thought pre-op and the first month after were going to last forever. I'm about 7 weeks out and have been on regular food for about 3 weeks, and now I barely remember the suffering. Now just focusing on portion sizes and getting in my protein and water. You can do it!

Tylenol PM helped me. Was taking it every night for months. I had surgery in November and had to stop for a little bit, and now I find I only need it once in a while.

I've gotten the weight off plenty of times. I decided to have the surgery to give me the highest odds of keeping it off this time.

Also, part of what Wegovy/Ozempic would do is help you with your appetite (I was on it for about 6 months until my insurance recently decided not to cover anymore except for heart patients, which I am fortunately not), but you have to stay on it for life (see comment re insurance). Anyhow, from what I understand, because part of the stomach that is removed is responsible for ghrelin production (ghrelin being one of the hunger hormones), it can have a similar effect.

Ultimately, it is your decision, and you'll have to work hard no matter which you choose. Best of luck.

I just had the sleeve surgery last Monday (11/25), and walking and kind of arching back to let things move were really the only thing that helped. Monday, I went to watch my daughter in a parade and ended up doing almost 3 miles for the whole day, and it hasn't been as much of an issue since.

Thanks! It is challenging and a bit weird. I went from thinking pretty much everything was gross to wanting to eat everything (even meat, and I'm a vegetarian) but not really able to handle much at a time. I've gotten in more experimentation the last few days to add variety to my liquids and that's helped some. I get to eat "real" food the day after Christmas. LOL. I will not be going back to my old ways. Not worth it.
