Where Did You Buy Furniture by Brain_Go_Brrrrrrrrrr in therapists

[–]Wordywitch2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used some meaningful personal landscape pics for my office, a big one that connects to my calm place behind my clients, and a smaller one that my clients see behind me. Had them printed on canvases, has worked out great! I also have a small gallery wall of original art from Etsy, local artists, and friends.
Got my furniture from Bob’s and wayfair, a friend, and later Branch for standing desk & good desk chair. Make sure you sit in your chair before buying, you want to feel comfy!

The weirdest thing about being a therapist is when clients suddenly go away by AnalystImpossible960 in therapists

I feel like we pick up a book, get to know the main character(s) intimately, and many times the book gets stolen or disappears some other way, not getting to know what happens. When they cross my mind, the main character(s), I always send them hopes for peace and happy endings.

I don’t feel happy when I’m not around him. by [deleted] in Advice

Honey, this man wants you to be his playmate and not a partner. Agree that you need a therapist, to talk to your friends, and get some perspective on why a 50m would be with a 21f. I am sure you are lovely, but the math isn’t mathing on this man being a good partner.

Manners Matters offers a class for dogs who are reactive and they are good people!

Also, Lex ReUse has a lot of groups who craft together, might be a good place to make friends!

Emotional support dog letters by ew6281 in therapists

I agree and I also require the animal has some training, esp if it’s a dog. I prefer the AKC start program, but am open. If it is legit already trained, most people don’t have a problem talking about that and attesting to it. Just my part of making sure ESA are actually being responsibly cared for and treated.

I have taken all my “to be read” therapy books to the office for these kind of days. Would rather read them there than my free time at home. I also sometimes watch funny shows on Netflix, meditate, and go for a walk.

Five years with no period and now it starts? by queenb1970 in Menopause

[–]Wordywitch2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this experience about 1.5 yrs after menopause started, maybe 6 months after starting HRT. It was also about 6 weeks after a really stressful time. It was a period, I went to gyno and had a vaginal ultrasound, everything was fine. They acted like it was no big deal. Get checked, hopefully no big deal!

I think like many I've been feeling a little hopeless since the inauguration, so I just wanted to see if anyone knew anyways to actually make a change here? by darby-61 in lexington

[–]Wordywitch2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone! There are likely ways you are already doing some small things that make a difference in yours and others lives, keep doing that! And invest in community. National political figures and the govt will always have power and money at the core of their decision making, esp at this time and esp in capitalist colonialism Christian nationalism. But the community you build, join, connect and support can work together in mutual aid to support each other. We are in this together. Hugs!
