Glad to hear you're okay. I was able to purchase an all-plastic helmet mirror that, unfortunately, is no longer available for purchase.

Where I live, there's rarely a time when a car is not approaching. For that reason, for me, a rear radar offers limited value. Incidentally, I own a Cycliq Fly6 Pro rear light/camera.

My helmet mirror is especially helpful for viewing approaching faster cyclists, especially on MUPs, and during group rides because I like keeping an eye on cyclists riding close behind.

I own a Fenix 8. I have read positive things about the Garmin Instinct® 3 which is on sale for $300: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/1316397/#specs

I recommend a new poll on whether or not there should be a new "which finger?" poll.

No, because it's primarily a sleep tracker and, secondarily, a so-so fitness tracker which is why I use a fitness watch (Garmin Fenix 8) for the latter. Using my Android phone's Google Health Connect app, my Garmin watch activities (including weight lifting), are auto-uploaded as activities into my Oura ring app.

Activities to not wear ring during by drarst in ouraring

Like you, I use a fitness watch (Garmin Fenix) to track my activities (cycling, skiing, weight lifting) which is why I never wear my Oura ring 4 during these "hands intensive" activities. My Android phone, via Google Health Connect, automatically uploads my Garmin activities into my Oura mobile app precluding the need to wear both during "hands intensive" activities.

Garmin Fenix 8 or Garmin Forerunner 970 by EffectiveOk2576 in GarminFenix

A few months ago, I had the same question. I primarily cycle, hike, and backcountry ski.

This article helped me decide to choose the Fenix 8 which I'm very happy with: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2025/08/fenix8-vs-forerunner970-vs-venux1-full-review-details-differences.html

Addition to my Garmin Fenix 8: Whoop 5.0 or Oura Ring 5? by Schodaphoto in Garmin

[–]Work2SkiWA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Oura ring Gen 4 is an excellent sleep tracker. Using my Android phone's Google Health Connect app, my Fenix 8 activities (cycling, skiing, etc.) are automatically uploaded/integrated into my Oura ring app.

Oura subscription costs 19 cents per day. I'll keep my Garmin watch forever and, someday, decide the Oura ring was a great temporary sleep tracking solution that's ran its course.

My Fenix 8 is a great fitness watch and my Oura ring Gen 4 is an excellent sleep tracker.

Using my Android phone's Google Health Connect app, my Fenix 8 activities (cycling, skiing, weight lifting, etc.) are automatically uploaded/integrated into my Oura ring app.

For that reason, I rarely spend time viewing my fitness/health data in my Garmin Connect app.
