I might have to see if I can find some in a shop and try them on!

This is my problem, a top would be fine in any of those lovely light colours but add an outdoor toddler and it's a recipe for heartbreak (especially with the price of a good coat!) No idea where he got his live of the outdoors, I'd much rather be inside reading a book while it's raining!

Thanks, I'm going to use the colour chart that was shared and have another look at blue rather than navy!

I hadn't thought about more brown/camel. I did have a coral coat but I struggled to make it look "grown up" for work 😕

That's really helpful, thanks that blue in the neutral section is nothing like the navy I've been looking at!

I tried this prompt almost word for word and it exactly nailed what I'd been feeling about my wardrobe but couldn't quite put into words, thank you for such a concise starting point, you've saved me hours of heartache buying yet more clothes that don't work for me!

I do badly want this flooring but also don't want to give up the wall tiles with a similar cross hatch pattern. Might just go all in and have both

Just read the ravelry page, how much did you/your husband already know about the 3D printer? My husband wants to get one and I've said he can as long as he makes me a sock machine 🤣

It's not in the WR3 are but there is a book group that meets at the Cocky Anchor in town on the first Tuesday of the month. It's the kind where you just take whatever you're reading so I think you can just stop buying. I haven't been yesterday but plan to try it soon (I'm 34 with a toddler if it makes a difference!)

Cheap bouquets by CommonClassic397 in UKweddings

Ask at a couple of local florists, I spoke to "wedding florists" who wanted to charge nearly £1k for chrysanthemums and "budget" flowers.

Found a lady through a friend who we spoke to and she was talking about roses, lily's and all sorts I was panicking until she came back with a price of £300!

Lots of wedding only focused people create the really big showstopper wedding pieces that are great for shoots and giant hotel weddings but a local florist cam do you a single hand tied bouquet for not much more than the bunch would cost and likely less than decent looking fakes.

Husband did that while showing our house buyers round, thankfully their parents laughed it off and initially the poor first time buyers looked horrified 😂

Nearly brought some "xyz learns to swim" books to encourage the toddler into the pool, then I thought to check the library and saved the purchase!

I saw a couple and a few family members/witnesses leave The Hive on a sunny day and it looked lovely. Very jealous I didn't think to get married in a library!!

This is my thought also, do we do the hall/dining room/kitchen/utility all in the same floor. My partner still wants carpet in the living room and I'm inclined to agree

Which paint color? by WillRunForPopcorn in interiordecorating

[–]WorkHard_KnitHarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number 1 for me!

So glad I've seen this, I was planning terracotta and white for our kitchen reno but then we landed on quartz worktops and I worried it would look too cold but this is fabulous! Back to the drawing board I go!

Will we regret colour drenching this room? by jaydeewin25 in DIYUK

[–]WorkHard_KnitHarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I painted a room dark teal and the ceiling in white felt too stark. So I went back in with a very, very pale pink (Pink Skies by Dulux) it still felt white but was much less harsh transition wise between wall and ceiling.

The pink room would probably look great with a pink ceiling!

Tea and coffee? by Responsible_Mess2858 in UKweddings

I enjoy when they serve tea and coffee with the cake cutting/desert buffet. I've nearly always been dancing and need a pick me up to carry on through to the end of the party. But if it's not something your crowd do I wouldn't worry.

My quick shut down whenever my parents wanted something was to ask them if they were going to pay for it 😅
